Surplombant la confluence des rivières Spray et Bow, Le Waldhaus se dresse comme une échappée sereine de l'animation de Banff. Ce qui a commencé comme un clubhouse pour le célèbre parcours de golf Stanley Thompson s'est transformé en un sanctuaire de la gastronomie alpine. Dans la salle à manger, le bois riche et l'âtre majestueux racontent les épopées des explorations révolues. The Waldhaus is located just a quick walk down the hill from the Fairmont Banff Springs. For direct access you can park at the Bow Falls parking lot and walk up the driveway or stairs. A complementary shuttle is also available from the main bus entrance at the hotel. The hotel's parking is located beside the Convention Center. Self-parking: $25 CAD/night, with unlimited access Valet service: $35 CAD/night, with unlimited access Electric Vehicles - complimentary
Public transit

Once they finally decided we were there and who our server was to be all was better. We had a 5pm reservation and all was fine for our anniversary reservation and seating but the server taking care of the other 4 tables in our area totally ignored us for 30 minutes until I asked her is she was our server and she said she was not sure and would go find out. At this point someone else came to see us and said there was a mix up. Nothing else was done and I guess for our $200 dinner we just had to accept there terrible service mix up. Not at all acceptable. Too bad that this is what Fairmont has now become and no one took any responsibility. I guess we know what we now need to do on our future visits. So we unfortunate as we have really had some enjoyable times over the years at the Waldhaus Restaurant

We had an excellent experience. If I could, I would give the service 6 stars... Our waiter Jack was amazing, he interacted with our daughters (8yo and 9yo) perfectly, and even surprised our 8yo with a mini chocolate fondue for dessert as she wanted to try it, but we weren't hungry enough to justify ordering the shareable one. The food was excellent, the building and ambience were really cool. We will definitely return next time we're in Banff.

What a remarkable German experience, the Bratwurst was heavenly not to mention the array of beers. I give this place 5 stars!!

Beautiful ambiance but menu selection and food was more fast food than should have matched the surroundings. Ordered the classic fondue of which the cheese was good but totally ruined by what only can be described as wonder white bread served with it. For goodness sake there are wonderful bakeries in Banff use their bread! The rest of the menu was burger, fish and chips, you get the picture. This wonderful dining room deserves better menu!

Warm atmosphere, experienced,professional wait staff and delicious Swiss food. The cheese fondue is wonderful.

Good but not as good as I remember. Can't beat the location and ambiance but at this point, there are many better German restaurants in the Bow Valley.
