Surplombant la confluence des rivières Spray et Bow, Le Waldhaus se dresse comme une échappée sereine de l'animation de Banff. Ce qui a commencé comme un clubhouse pour le célèbre parcours de golf Stanley Thompson s'est transformé en un sanctuaire de la gastronomie alpine. Dans la salle à manger, le bois riche et l'âtre majestueux racontent les épopées des explorations révolues. Pendant ce temps, le Bierhalle en dessous est l'endroit où l'histoire et la gaieté se rencontrent, offrant un espace convivial pour la camaraderie, les jeux et la joie partagée des aventures contées.

- Le Waldhaus est désigné comme un bâtiment historique et, à ce titre, dispose d'escaliers pour accéder à toutes les zones.

The Waldhaus is located just a quick walk down the hill from the Fairmont Banff Springs. For direct access you can park at the Bow Falls parking lot and walk up the driveway or stairs. A complementary shuttle is also available from the main bus entrance at the hotel. The hotel's parking is located beside the Convention Center. We had a delicious dinner at Waldhaus. Some of the dishes were not what we expected (the split pea soup was an orange colour & the little gems dish was actually a salad), but tasty nonetheless. The pulled pork sandwich and the bratwurst were amazing. Perfect cosy meal after a day skiing. Fairmont Banff Springs guests even get a shuttle from the hotel and back! 10/10.

We were not impressed with our overall experience at Waldhaus compared to the other Banff Springs Hotel restaurants. Service was slow even though the restaurant was far from full and food was average. The Vermillion was excellent! Overall 5 stars.

Had an amazing dinner. We started with great pretzel appetizer - the beer cheese was fabulous. For entrees we had the pork sandwich and bratwursts. Both were delicious. For dessert we had the chocolate fondue which had fresh fruit, cinnamon cookies and baked goods, and the homemade marshmallows! The staff was great and very welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and helped us pick our meals. We were in a great secluded spot that had a great ambiance. The quiet music selection was very nice. I highly recommend you dine here and look forward to coming back!

We stay at Banff Springs at least twice a year, and always go to the Waldhaus every time. The atmosphere is great, the staff is amazing (Mark, Julie, et al) friendly, helpful and a lot of fun. Cannot recommend this experience enough.

I had a lovely time sitting at the bar in the pub. It was quiet on a Friday night. The food was good. I really enjoyed the veggie tartine. The vibes were very chill, kind of moody. If you’re staying at the hotel and want a no-frills (but delicious) dinner, consider the pub.

The Waldhaus Restaurant was average, at best. It feels like a theme park experience that needs to be refreshed. The main dining room is pretty, but we were seated in the enclosed porch area, which no doubt has amazing daytime views, but we visited at night and the ambiance was weird. Very harsh lighting. Food wise, we ordered the three course dinner and the cheese fondue was good. I think it would have been nice to have something to to dip other than stale bread and apples. The pork schnitzel was decent, and the chocolate fondue was tasty, but not elevated at all. Nothing made the experience feel special. This restaurant lacks the Fairmont’s signature attention to detail and seems due for a reboot.

The food was excellent. Had the schnitzel and enjoyed it. For dessert had the apple strudel which was a sweet light finish to the dinner. Overall enjoyed the dinner. Note you have to walk up to the restaurant ( road and stairs which was adventurous in the snow and cold for my date in high heels).
