The Waggon & Horses, situated on Great North Road, dates back to the early 1700s when it was originally two cottages, but has held a licence since before 1799! Here we serve delicious, traditional pub food from our seasonal menus, and we also have a great Sunday menu - perfect for treating the family! You'll get your choice of meat with all the best Sunday trimmings.

We came for a family sunday lunch & havent been here before. We were very impressed. The pub had a lovely feel to it. Our waitress ( i forgot to get her name) couldnt have been more helpful, from showing us to our table to bringing our food & drinks. The food was lovely. We would definitely reccomend & we would certainly return again.

We enjoyed a very pleasant meal in a local pub on Sunday. There was no "muzac" and the other guests seemed to be mainly families enjoying themselves. Service was very good. Food was good pub food. We will come again.

As usual a great atmosphere,on Sunday only one person serving which was inadequate. The quality of the food is not as good as it used to be and I have found this on frequent visits. I had the roast beef yesterday and there was as much fat as there was meat

The service was slow to say the least. There was no chicken for the roast, so I had a chicken burger. It was not great and terribly presented.

Not sure if it was because of the bank holiday weekend but the place was understaffed and we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated; we were told straightaway on arrival that there would be a wait for food. Just generally not welcoming so we just had a drink & went elsewhere.

Sunday roast. As returning customers we expected the food to it's usual good standard. But seeing the place empty apart from 2 pr 3 tables didn't bode well. Apparently it's either recently changed hands, or definitely the "chef" the term I use losely. The beef was extremely tough. After complaining, quietly I might add. The "chef" suggested we use steak knives! Yes. That was his answer. We didn't eat it. Couldn't eat it! No apology, nothing taken off the bill. Disgraceful. Avoid!

Food was good. Wait time for food was also good. We had 3 mains 3 drinks and it was £20 per person. I think this was a reasonable price for what we had. Will definitely eat here again.

We love popping to the Waggon Horses for a drink but our Sunday roast yesterday was very disappointing. We had roast beef and it was very difficult to cut and so were the parsnips!
