The Soba options here are diverse and all equally delicious. The accoutrements add to the meal in splendid ways. Their sashimi is divine. The staff are delightful. The space is clearly designed after the restaurant’s name. Less is more. Soba is impermanent. A beautiful gem.

This place is a little gem. Hand made food, set in a quiet garden it has become our favorite for real Japanese food. Seems completely undiscovered due to its out of the way location.

We had been looking forward to trying Wabisabi for a very long time. The atmosphere is VERY cute—except the table is too hard for old folks like us to get seated. The bathroom is extremely cute. We were very disappointed that there wasn’t sushi to share around the table, just hand rolls that can’t be shared and are a weird combo with a meal. The soba noodles were expensive and nothing special for the price. We did like that it is BYOB, but the price was still high even without alcohol charges. We are sad, but won’t be going there again. Money is too hard to come by for this not so special night out.

This is a very unique place for soba noodles. They make their own noodles and the ambiance like you are in Kyoto. We enjoyed our lunch there.

Excellent food, ambiance and service. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to feel transported to Kyoto.

Charming and casual spot for authentic, delicious Japanese soba and tasty hand rolls. I was here in September and enjoyed it so much that we came back twice during our visit last week. The peaceful setting with Japanese garden and thoughtful decorative touches is a nice contrast to the busy scene in Paia. The food fits the ambience: simple and prepared with care. We enjoyed our lunch of hamachi, salmon and avocado hand rolls as well as the kitsune hot soba in the evening. There are also other starters, grilled items and sashimi on the menu. Will be trying them all next time we're in Maui! Remember to BYOB if you want drinks to accompany your meal.

The ONLY reason I'm giving 2 stars is the Chu Toro itself was really good. Sushi chef gone, they don't plan to replace per server. They apparently don't understand inventory as they were out of things from a very small menu. The Chu Toro, which drew me in was cut into very small chunks by server. Ugly and unprofessional presentation. Asked for avocado in the otherwise plain Hamachi hand roll and it came without it. Answer when queried: "we forgot." There was ONE other couple having a noodle bowl. This place was absolutely dead on a Sat night. Asked for rice bowls and received 1 small paddle's worth in each. Tried to charge me $6 for rice, I declined. Unless you are going for noodle dish, I'd skip this pricey place altogether. We are 34 year North shore residents. We know better.

So authentic! Takes me back to memories of eating soba at a specialty shop in Asaksa! The broth was so savory and the noodles homemade and delicious! The miso saba and sashimi were also excellent- we can’t say enough good things!
