VU Rooftop is a 13,000 square foot concept located 22 stories high next door to McCormick Place. Here, you can enjoy an ingredient-driven beverage program, a top-notch culinary experience and unparalleled views of the Lake and Downtown within a modern designed space. VU is a year-round rooftop with outdoor terraces and enclosed spaces. Outdoor seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to weather or limited availability, seating may be indoors.

Food was Ok but they need to reduce the salt 🧂 lil bit on their salmon fish, also need to reduce the sugar on their slice chocolate cake 🍰 . The place is very nice with great view outdoors to the the skyline and Lake Michigan. Friendly staff and reasonable price.

60.00 Deposit for a table, music way too loud inside, many asked to go outside to just have conversation. Menu food wise very limited but food was good. Doors didn't open until 4pm and wasn't very clean for just opening especially in glass hallways to bathrooms. The bill had a 58.00 service charge which is the 20% tip added and then they include another line for your percentage of tip you want to add ontop of that. Only 2 hr table limit so they lost money on us our bill would have been well over 1k if it didn't. Interesting to try but it's a one and done type place with the exorbitant pricing.Plenty of less expensive bars right by it.

It was an overall decent experience. There was an incident with one of the bar tenders who asked us to bring shot glasses into the bar inside as we were walking from the outside to the inside even though the shots were brought to us outside. I thought that was a little rude. Also, when I got home, I realized our $60 deposit did not go toward our meal, which was different from what we were told when we made the reservations.

Our party of four tried two appetizers (corn fritters and popcorn shrimp) and the hamburger, salmon succotash and the crab salad). All were quite tasty, especially the salmon dish. The views were spectacular! Our server was attentive, as was other attending staff. Great place to go for a meal before an event at the Wintrust Arena.

They had clearly overbooked and this stressed the wait staff—they were doing the best they could but service still painfully slow. the setting is worn and tired and sort of depressing and does not look at all like pictures.

We ordered an appetizer that was mistakenly sent to another table. We didn’t even notice because we were deep in conversation - but we had another app delivered with an apology and then another manager checked on us and apologized again. We only had apps and they were all good, great drink menu, beautiful view and great customer focus by the staff.
