Review of Vivace Italian Restaurant For years, Vivace held a special place in my heart. I’ve dined there countless times, witnessing their journey from a cozy local gem to a bustling, expanded establishment. I’ve always rooted for them, taking pride in their growth and the joy they brought to so many. But after my last two visits, it’s with great disappointment that I say I’ll never return. When I first started going to Vivace, the owner’s personal touch elevated every experience. They would walk around during dinner service, ensuring every table was happy, every bite was perfect, and every guest felt like family. Sadly, those days are long gone. Visit 1: Cold Food, Empty Apologies During my penultimate visit, the issues began. We were served cold food, and the arancini, usually a highlight of the menu, arrived with cheese so solid and unmelted that it was inedible. The general manager apologized, blaming a “new cook who was still getting the hang of things,” and promised us free dessert on our next visit. While I appreciated the gesture, it felt like a band-aid on a much deeper problem. Visit 2: A Comedy of Errors Despite my previous disappointment, I decided to give Vivace one more chance. I now regret that decision. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young Black woman who asked if we had a reservation. When I responded, “Not yet, but I can make one if needed,” she laughed and said it was “too late for a reservation.” As I looked around, I noticed one empty, cleaned booth and two dirty tables that hadn’t been cleared. Oddly enough, she told us those tables were being held for reservations. Curious, I opened the OpenTable app and, to my surprise, successfully made a reservation for 25 minutes later. When I mentioned this, she informed us we’d still need to wait for a table to open. After 15 minutes, we were finally seated—at a small, uncomfortable table—not the booth that remained empty the entire time. we will never return to this restaurant. 0/5 starsCet avis est-il utile ?

The absolute best service, the best. Food is outstanding and the presentation enhances the experience. Ambience is out of this world. Chef Vito and the staff exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend Vivace, HIGHLY!!!!!Cet avis est-il utile ?

We had a delicious dinner. We started off with the Beet and Arugula salad. The bolognaise and chicken parmesan were exceptional. Paired with chianti for a fabulous Italian meal. We finished up with Gelato to the smooth Jazz sounds of the saxophone. Wonderful evening! Vivace combines the best of a neighborhood restaurant with luxury dining. Our host Tommy always goes above and beyond to make our evening special. Vivace remains at the top of our restaurant list.Cet avis est-il utile ?

This restaurant is fantastic. Great drinks from Tommy and the food is delicious. I had the lasagna and it may be the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Also the garlic knots are amazing!!! Les was our waiter and he was funny and super attentive. This place will absolutely go on the rotation. Really amazing!Cet avis est-il utile ?

Pasta was fairly good — tasty but nothing special. Brussels sprouts were both soggy and undercooked. We couldn’t eat them. We mentioned this to our server but she just shrugged.Cet avis est-il utile ?

Music was beautiful! Loved the musician's choices, but we were so close to music, it was difficult to hear each other. I would choose the back room in the future. The pasta/cauliflour dish was very tasty. My husbands chicken parm very good also, I did have to send mine back one time, as pasta was cold and cauliflour was warm. > We had a very different experience than other diners. We visited Vivace because the chef is a native of our hometown, Pittsburgh PA & we wanted a Pittsburgh-quality meal: Appetizers, soup & entree. Instead, it was a disappointment from beginning to end. >We arrived at 4:15 pm because we had a 6:00 pm commitment nearby. A server acknowledged us, then disappeared. Another server seated us & we waited to place a drink order. > When my wine arrived, the server said my wife's cocktail would arrive soon. After about 10 minutes, "Tommy" delivered her cocktail & apologized for the delay. > Our server never returned. We had to flag another server to place our appetizer, soup & entree order. The soup arrived before our appetizers. While finishing our appetizers, another round of soup was delivered to our table. A third round of soup was delivered as we waited for our check. You can't make this stuff up. > Meanwhile, two young boys played on the ledge beside our booth. At one point, a woman approached us, apologized, and said she would comp a dessert. > At 5:15 pm we asked our server about the status of our entrees. She said she would check, but we asked to have them boxed to go and requested our check. We didn't mention the offer of a comped dessert. We'd had enough. > The wine & cocktail were excellent. The wedding soup - a Pittsburgh staple - was bland. The meatball appetizer, while tasty, was served warm, not hot. The garlic knots were dry, but swimming in garlic & oil, which the runner dripped all over the floor in front of our booth. (Kindly mopped up by Tommy.) The entrees? TBD; small portions saved for another day. > Disorganization was apparent throughout our visit. This was not a staffing issue. There were no more than 5 tables dining when we left, with at least 5 staff on hand, chatting at the back of the room. > Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've experienced in South Florida.Cet avis est-il utile ?
