Stationed in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Virtue is a Southern American restaurant that leads with a culture of hospitality & kindness. We’ve worked hard to create a warm, honest & thoughtful space. We pride ourselves on unpretentious service, timing & most importantly providing great value.     We had a reservation for 9pm and arrived early. We were accommodated and seated 30 minutes early. Service was very nice. Food was excellent. We would definitely go back.

    We went for my husband’s birthday. The dining chairs are very low and uncomfortable. I ordered the blackened catfish, the blackened flavors were nonexistent, tasteless. My son had the fish and grits and enjoy every bit of it. My husband enjoyed his short ribs. There were periods where we felt the waiter was slow in returning.

    Wonderful food. Go with more large rations than small. So many great choices. Also a strong nonalcoholic drink menu.

    The food was absolutely amazing! The drinks were superb! This is my second time visiting this restaurant and once again I am very pleased with my visit from the staff to the food. Will definitely be back!

    This was our second time at Virtue and it again did not disappoint. There were 4 of us. We had the fried green tomatoes, gizzards, cornbread. Our entrees were the fish and grits, half chicken, walleye, and catfish. For dessert we all split the 7up cake. Everything was outstanding. Our friends will definitely be back. Our server, Rog, was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. As well as the other staff that brought drinks, cleared the table, etc. We will be going back again and continue to bring others so they can enjoy such a great restaurant.

    The food was amazing and the Front of House staff was so friendly and personable. A perfect dining experience.

    We ordered the fried green tomatoes, cornbread, Mac n cheese, catfish/rice dinner, and fish/grits with crab etoufee dinner. Everything tasted amazing except the Mac n Cheese. It was not creamy and cheese tasted bitter. Otherwise I recommend the other dishes. Highly recommended!!!!
