Stationed in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Virtue is a Southern American restaurant that leads with a culture of hospitality & kindness. We’ve worked hard to create a warm, honest & thoughtful space. We pride ourselves on unpretentious service, timing & most importantly providing great value. Great restaurant and service. Easy access to the restaurant from downtown on the Metra. Every bite is delicious. The cocktails were well done.

Incredible food, amazing dining experience. Such an authentic southern feel. Chef Damarr really knows how to bring comfort southern cuisine to the city

I chose Virtue to celebrate my daughter's birthday, however, staff at Virtue did not acknowledge this occasion as other restaurants do. Moreover, staff walked past our table several times without refilling our water glasses from a heavy bottle that was left on the table. I guess their policy is DIY. The walleye meal I ordered was mediocre. I have been to Virtue many times and recommended it to others. This time I was disappointed as were others in my party. We were seated in the very noisy bar area which made conversation difficult. To Mr. Williams and his staff: Do not let your awards and recognition swell your heads, maintain the quality and service that earned these accolades in the first place.

We enjoyed our food and drinks. Parts of the meal felt like home cooking and others like they were trying to make it look posh. It was nice to have an Abita so far from NOLA and the étouffée was on par with some of The Big Easy’s finest home cooks. I would say this place is worth a try at least once.

Had a fantastic dinner at Virtue. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. I will definitely be going back.

Anthony was an amazing waiter. The food, ambience and staff were top notch. We had the walleye which went above and beyond in flavor and texture. The duck pate’ was amazing. Would have no problem coming back.

Our dining experience at Virtue was wonderful! The food was the star but the service was also impeccable- we got the snap pea salad to start, the blackened catfish, and the collard greens side. Very filling and large enough portion sizes where we were stuffed and happy. The taste was outstanding - a true take on southern comfort food. I’d recommend Virtue to anyone!
