We’ve worked hard to create a warm, honest & thoughtful space. We pride ourselves on unpretentious service, timing & most importantly providing great value. At Virtue we use heritage techniques to create some familiar flavors, & some new ones. We hope to see you soon.

From the tobacco baskets on the ceiling, to the kitchen being led by a Black female chef in braids, to excellent service and hospitality from our server Henry, to the windows honoring Breonna, Sandra, and far too many to name…our experience was Virtue was SPECTACULAR. James Beard awards, well deserved! Thank you Chefs Erick, Damarr, and Becky!!! What we ate: Small Rations, Biscuits, Green Tomatoes, and Gizzards. Large Rations, Fish & Grits, and Blackened Catfish. As always, Virtue was superb. I have yet to have a dish I didn’t enjoy and I’ve dined here 7-8 times. That’s why it’s one of the restaurants I frequent.

Absolutely delicious meal from Virtue! The Mac and cheese, short rib, and CB&J were our favorites. That and the desserts (Millie’s puddin’ and the key lime pie) made the whole experience awesome. And shout out to Jen for being an awesome server/guide for us!

Certainly! Here's a refined version of the review: Our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional! The food and service were top-notch, with Jen providing outstanding service that truly made our visit memorable. Each dish arrived hot and perfectly seasoned, needing no additional condiments. We tried the scallops, which had just been added to the menu that day, and they were incredibly flavorful. The location itself is equally fantastic, offering a wonderful atmosphere to complement the amazing food. Highly recommended!

We feel incredibly fortunate to live so close to Virtue! Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, I can confidently say this place is among the best in the world. As someone with several food allergies, I truly appreciate how the chef always goes above and beyond, personally marking up the menu to guide me on what I can and can't enjoy. The staff is equally amazing—knowledgeable about every dish and drink, and always making me feel welcome despite my dietary restrictions. Virtue has become our go-to spot for date nights, celebrations, and special milestone dinners. We absolutely love introducing friends to this gem and can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I will definitely be back!!! The food was amazing the service was top tier.. the people they hired to serve are incredible… great customer service even if there is a problem they have solutions.. 10/10… I’m going to even promote this to Keith Lee when he comes to Chicago again it’s that good

From the hostess to the waiter to the food, this was a fantastic start to a weekend of friends visiting from New Orleans. Henry was our waiter, freshly arrived from New Orleans himself, he steered us in the right direction.
