Food was okay, not anything that blew me away. I think the soul food on the outskirts is way better

Took hubby here for his birthday. This was our second time visiting. The food was just as we remembered, if not even better! We started off with the gumbo, which was hearty in itself. My husband had the Short ribs, which were tender and flavorful. I had the blackened catfish, which was flaky, seasoned well, and melted in my mouth. We also ordered as sides: collard greens, mac n cheese, and cornbread. OMG, I could've lived off the cornbread alone! Greens were cooked to perfection, and mac n cheese was creamy but not overly cheesy. Needless to say, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, and we had a lot of leftovers. The service was top-notch, and it was a great experience overall. It is a small space, so be prepared to maybe sit a little close to other patrons. It was cool for us, great conversation. We will definitely be back, try something else, and remember those sides are enough to 2👍🏾

Valentines Dinner reservation was great, the staff was so great. Very warm welcome, it was so special. All tables were glowing with a flicker of candle light. Romantic music that was played made me fall more in love with my husband as it took us back the time we dated. We are now married for 32 years. The servers was well versed in the menu and offered substitutions if needed. The food was absolutely, incredibly, amazing. We both had the short ribs, macaroni and cheese, smashed potatoes, greens with warm corn bread that had warm melting butter on top. And for desert, the most delicious peach cobbler accompanied with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I was so excited to see the James Beard award wining Chief Owner. All in all it was an amazing Dinner out with my Super Man, my husband.

The absolute best quality with the most excellent service. The Gumbo is phenomenal; the gizzards are one of the top 50 dishes in Chicago. They also have creative and delicious cocktails. It's always a fabulous experience. If you haven't been...GO!!!

I sat at the bar. I had the Fannie Ward which was really tasty. The fried green tomatoes were great and the short ribs were wonderful.

Enjoyed the experience. The nature of the menu is not very gluten friendly. Food was very tasty and service was friendly and attentive. There is no willingness to mix and match items on the menu which I found annoying. Very family friendly. Found it a bit noisy when the restaurant was full. Other than that very good place.

Virtue is top tier in everything that they do. If the amazing food wasn’t enough, they will make sure your silverware stays fresh, table clean and kind words shared. Simply put, Virtue is a blueprint for excellence. The food was top tier and the service impeccable. This starts from the top on down. Salute!
