We had reservations here for Valentine’s Day, where we thought it wasn’t prix fixe since there wasn’t anything on their website about it. The 5 course meal was good but not stellar, the portions were very small, and there were long periods of time in between courses. The staff were friendly but seemed stretched thin. It felt like the tables around us were getting special treatment (the head chef sat at multiple tables to chat) while we often felt ignored. Overall it was far more expensive than it felt worth, especially since we felt crammed into the restaurant like sardines. I’m not the type to leave critical reviews, but we were pretty upset when we left and actually ate at a nearby bar afterwards.

What a great gem to find! Tucked in a dark (albeit) popular street, there is a neighborhood restaurant waiting for you to get a table. 100% recommend dining here. The food is fantastic and the staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. Great for groups or dates - the food is the star.

Great meal. We selected numerous dishes to share. Portions were large enough that all four of us to have a taste. Service was outstanding. Best service we have received in a long time. From the Chef to our waiter Karel plus the barman. all seem to be genuinely enjoying their jobs. Top of our list to return the next time we visit Seattle. Highly recommended.

As always William, the owner and chef, and Kevin, our waiter made us feel at home. Violet is consistent in the quality of their dinners and the atmosphere. The restaurant was pretty quiet so we could have an easy conversation without having to shout or lean in to hear what others were saying. Kevin was comfortably chatty and entertained us with his stories and humor. One of our favorite restaurants we have enjoyed many times over the years.

I chose Violet for my husband's birthday dinner because I liked the ambience and it had great reviews. Our experience was outstanding from beginning to end. They greeted us warmly, gave us a welcome taste of Lambrusco, offered great food and drink recommendations and made us feel very welcome. The owner also introduced himself to us and at the end of our meal, sat down with us and gave us a birthday toast. The car and attention to providing a first rate dining experience with no detail left out was impressive and we had a memorable, and delicious meal!
