Did the tasting menu. The steak was amazing. Foie gras was on the sour side but still good. The other 3 was not memorable..

Loved it! I'd never been but I thought I'd go somewhere I haven't gone to before. Service was exemplary from top to bottom. The drinks were strong, the food was mighty. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Foie gras appetizer to dessert was all perfect!

Went in by myself for my birthday. Server Karel was so kind and attentive without being overbearing. Had the 5-course tasting menu which is a super steal for what you get. Food was outstanding. Will definitely be back. This place is a hidden gem.

I get to come to Seattle once a year for a convention I work with. I found Violet when I was looking for a nice place to take clients for dinner the years ago. It has since become a must visit each time I come to Seattle. The atmosphere is delightful and goes very far in selling a cozy farm to table bistro. It is always clean and wonderful. The drinks are well crafted, a wine list that is just what it needs to be and nothing more. There is something for every pallet. The food is very well prepared and the Fois Gras is among the best I have every had. I have even had it for my dessert it was so good the first time. The food is prepared prefectly and seasoned very well. There is not a bad choice to be had. The seared Cod is out of this world and a must for every table. A wonderful experience everytime I come to town.

A neighborhood gem. Hudson valley foie gras was exquisite. Lamb tenderloin was perfectly cooked. Cocktails and wine were excellent. Pace was French. A lovely evening. We’ll be back.

Chef William's Capitol Hill neighborhood gem, Violet, is always an exquisite experience — whether you order a la carte or go omakase and let him + his talented team craft the perfect sequencing of dishes, tailored to your preferences (I was the only one who identified foods I don't eat so I had several different dishes than the rest of our group; everyone's food was delicious). Last night we brought out-of-town business friends and went the omakase route. We had amazing toro tuna with watermelon, big beautiful scallops, soft and perfectly seasoned short rib (everyone loved their lamb dish), seasonal vegetables, fresh baked breads, olives, lightly chili-spiced boquerones — all expertly paired with the best wines – and a light chocolate mouse with cherry compote with a glass of perfectly aged port at the end. It was a warm day so the street-facing wall was rolled up for a lovely indoor-outdoor feel. It's the kind of high-class, low-key place you can go to dressed up to the nines or in jeans and feel at home on a date, an important work meal, or with your family for a special occasion or just a nice weekday dinner. If you're interested, William will stop by and chat with you about food, wine, travel, his remarkable story. Violet is clearly a labor of love; it shows in the welcoming spirit of the place and everyone who works here, and of course in the quality of the ingredients and precise preparation. The food is elevated, healthy, surprising and fun, and never stuffy. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

A wonderful dining experience severely impacted negatively by a very loud room. We had to yell to be heard. Recommend the omikaze. Pricey but each serving was a nice surprise.
