When we looked online and made our reservation, nothing mentioned a $100/per person "special" menu on new years eve... meal was ok... but way overpriced. I

The experience that we had on New Year's Eve was less than stellar! We expected the cost, so no problem there. However $450.00 for three people including tip is rather extreme for Hickory. The appetizers were delicious, even thuogh they arrived after the salad. Disappointed that there was not a choice of salad dressing. One in our party ordered the salmon, which was good, but cold when it arrived. Our other two choices were both the lobster cavatappi. It was good, but almost completely void of lobster. Before ordering this dish, our server was asked if it would contain a whole lobster tail. She assured us that it would have a lobster tail on the top. One entree had a single small piece of lobster and the other had at most two pieces. Very disappointing!! Dessert choices were very uninspired. Our choice being cake slices. We were never offered a glass of the complimentary Champagne. Also, we sat for 30 minutes after arriving, before we were approached by our waitperson for a drink order. We will try something different next New Year!!

Nice vibe, pretty quiet, we did the pasta which was very good. We usually sit a bar for dinner, think we should have gone for a table instead. Bottom line, we will be back when we are in Hickory.

This place use to be great but has been going down hill for maybe a year or so. Services was incredibly slow. It took like 15-20min just to get our drinks. Then people who came in after us were getting their food while we were still waiting. The drinks were ok. The $20 old fashioned was overly sweet and they don’t have cube ice so they just use the regular ice which pretty much instantly dilutes your drink. Their rolls which use to be amazing were just tough burnt rolls. They must have changed the recipe or something but they ruined them. Which is unfortunate because they use to have the best rolls anywhere. They also changed their parmesan salad dressing which also use to be great. The entrees were very good though, the only good part of our meal. However we ended with mediocre desserts. They couldn’t even be bothered to warm up the apple cake which would have made it 10x better. To add insult to injury they add a 3% fee if you pay with a card. Because at over $100 per person they can take that 3% credit card processing hit. Would not be back. Hickory needs more competition in this category. Would love to see a real chef run restaurant in the area instead of this corporate stuff.

Originally seated near the bar, I asked for a quieter table for our dinner with friends. They accommodated our request and we had an enjoyable meal. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. I had the Small Plate Lasagna and it was fabulous. Shortly after we finished eating , the power went out. They were gracious and accommodating to all customers and acted with professionalism while working out a plan of action. We enjoyed our meal and service, at Vintage House and will be coming back.
