The server was good, but a bit slow (restaurant was empty). Had the New York strip steak, medium rare. The steak was pink enough but dry and flavorless. Side of Japanese mushroom: also zero flavor. Never had to add salt to a side in a premium steakhouse in my life. Overall the ambiance of the place was nice, but the food was not good, especially for the high prices.

The steaks are mediocre at best. The porterhouse was really just a T bone and not seasoned well. Same with seasoning on the fillet. These were not premium steaks, so they did not warrant the premium price. This place wants to be a premium restaurant that charges premium prices for premium food. They have the prices right for premium...They just forgot to put premium food on the table. The standout here was actually the crispy potatoes, probably worth every bit of the twelve dollars they cost.

The ambiance is as quieting as ever; our lobster was fine, nothing spectacular at $50 a plate, lobster and a potato. Desserts which are traditionally delicious and special, were mixed up with things, messed up with 'new' ways to serve them (crème brûlée beneath a mound of some kind of pudding, lava cake chopped up with stuff on it). We waited quite a while for everything. Those do not need 'updating.' We sat down at 5:00 p.m. for our 54th anniversary and left at 7:30 p.m. feeling like we hadn't celebrated anything.

Our dinner at Lombardi's was a mixed bag. One person's drink had to be redone twice before our waitress remade it correctly. My drink was good but needed a slightly stronger flavor rum and a drop of sugar. The biggest problem was the lack of imagination of the chef who when dealing with a client with very strict dietary needs. He/she could have made a beurre noir for the mushrooms in place of a soy laden umami butter, and who also failed to suggest something savory for the seabass. We had a great waitress who was severely hampered by having NO ONE ELSE working the floor. One waitress, two rooms, and 20 or 25 clients is unfair to patrons and to her. She did her level best but she needed at least two or three more staff to help her. Not sure what management's issue is, but that needs to change.

$59 for a very small piece of Chilean sea bass, and have to pay extra for sides.

The food was AWESOME! All our steaks were cooked to perfection as we each requested different temperatures. Appetizers were great as well. The only downside was the delays in getting the food. It seems they were short handed in the kitchen. As a result the waitress had to continually apologize to all customers. Also there was a long delay till our salads were ready, but then the main meal came right after leaving us little time to consume after such a long wait for any food. We didn’t have a tight schedule so the delay didn’t impact other plans, but we just didn’t plan on taking a few hours for dinner. The apologies were appreciated, but typically management would offer a free drink or dessert for the unexpected inconvenience of very lengthy delay.

Packers fans and history buffs will enjoy the ambience. Everyone will enjoy the food and attentive wait staff. Jenna was great!
