Old-school Italian, which we like. Staff friendly and attentive. Melanzane al for o in a rich tomato sauce with cheese was really good. My veal chop was tasty and well presented, as was the chicken paillard. Zucchini Fritti were great and not at all greasy. The Pettit Pois were dry, very disappointing. The wine list is expensive and the “House Champagne” at £60 tasted nothing like as good as the average méthode champenois crémant would have, had any been available on the list. It was one-dimensional, lacked life and it brought an otherwise lovely meal down a notch or two.
