We are a local, independent restaurant giving diners a touch of charm and elegance but also with a casual and inviting atmosphere. We strive to offer diners a friendly, accomplished service and, most importantly, an interesting high-quality menu using fresh locally sourced ingredients wherever practical and possible.

Vegetarian as well as fish and meat dishes are a standard feature on the menu. Kent’s farmers and growers feature strongly as our main suppliers of organic and free range poultry, meat and other fresh produce.

Kent vintages feature heavily on our wine list along with a wide selection of wines from around the globe.

Was first visit after being recommended by friends. Was a lovely setting and decor. Whilst personally my food was nice my wife had the mussels which she found sauce not nice and then the miss cod which was lukewarm. Ate it without msking fuss and mentioned to waitress when collecting plates. Not sure if this was fed back as when table next to us had 2 cods they had same issue but the owner was all over it and advised wouldn't be charged. This came up again when talking to another waitress later on and she said would feedback. When got bill there was no mention re the cold cod or ant allowance so had to mention and was given a small discount. Wasn't expecting a free dinner but was obviously a different experience to other diners and how was dealt with depending on who you mentioned it to Would think twice now about returning unfortunately

What a wonderful venue beautifully decorated a real buzz about the place and the food is just beautiful, perfectly cooked and presented exquisitely. Highly recommend

Not what we expected. This was a birthday celebration so we were looking forward to a fine dining experience, as we had experienced two years ago at V&Co. We checked the website and were expecting duck, cod, or steak. They were only offering the starters, as tapas. They were perfectly fine, although not outstanding. And no mention was made of my wife's birthday, which i had mentioned in the booking. The bill was reasonable, but I was intending to spend more on an unforgettable experience in the best restaurant in Deal. I could get tapas elsewhere.

I am so sorry you're evening was spoilt. We do have a message on the home page of the website "Our grazing menu which will be served Wednesday to Sunday throughout September. We will be introducing an exciting new menu in October with a few other changes along the way so keep your 👀 peeled!" The grazing menu, also published, did not offer the normal dinner menu. It seems we did not make this clear enough which meant that you missed the message before looking for the menu section which I apologise for. I hope you'll try I new menu launching Friday 4 October. This is our favourite restaurant in Deal. The atmosphere, service and food were outstanding as usual.

Victuals & Co serve up a delectable menu - all the dishes we chose were absolutely delicious and did not disappoint. The price points were about right also, representing good value for the quality of food. Our only comment would be the decor and music (level and style) - with the coloured lights and slightly too loud disco music it felt a bit hectic and didnt quite match the quality of the food; giving a slightly strange ambience. But that said - we still had a very enjoyable night out and would still recommend because the food quality was worth it. And isnt that the most importatnt thing when you eat out? :)

What a little gem! They had a tasting menu that was basically tapas and every dish was so delicious. Lovely server and great ambience. Give it a try!

A beautiful restaurant we were keen to try from having looked at the menu and the diner ratings. The positives first - which are many. The staff were friendly and cheerful and were working very hard as there were only two of them to serve all tables up and downstairs. The food itself was delicious, particularly the excellent brownie dessert which was a very good size as was the cod dish. The wine list was long and wide, showcasing English as well as international wines, all at a very reasonably price. The only negatives were that we had to wait an hour for the main course - maybe because our booking had to be at 830, and by that time the kitchen was clearly very busy fulfilling other orders. And the other negative was that the position size of the buttermilk chicken was disappointing small. The rainbow slaw was a tiny pot and didn’t really have any colour as everything was coated in a mayo dressing, the chicken itself was one small piece with a thick but tasty buttermilk fried surround and it came with a little sweet corn salsa. It was disappointing as by that point I was very hungry as there was an hour before I saw any food, no bread and dip is available to help bridge the gap, and the other reviews had referred to generous portions. The starter was also small, a very thin slice of goats cheese with a few bits of beetroot and some pine nuts. Overall we’ve still given it four stars due to the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff but portion sizes were inconsistent (charge more if needed and provide two pieces of chicken or a thicker slice of goats cheese) and the wait was quite long and not acknowledged until 50 minutes in. Would come again (if they’ll have us) as really want this restaurant to do well and carry on producing delicious food.
