I was very excited to visit this restaurant. Upon entry, it felt that I had vertigo. On top of that, we were not greeted nor directed where to go. After around 1-2 minutes, a person came to us with a tablet and asked if we had reservations. She was nice, but I had distaste in my mouth already. After being seated, we opted into sparking water and waited for its arrival. Maybe 3 minutes after, someone different came by and asked if we wanted tap or sparkling again. We finally got our sparkling water and were asked for drink orders. The waitress came back to ask if the drink we ordered was on the menu and it was; however, the bartender seemed to be unfamiliar with the menu item. After a few, we received our drinks and placed our entree order. The food was a decent wait. Upon getting our food, my partner’s side dish wasn’t what he wanted, albeit he didn’t address it and opted to eat what was served. Now on to the food, it was subpar and fell short of flavor and portion size. I order the Oxtail for $36 and received three pieces. It was hard to hear the waiter and my partner the entire time because the music was obnoxiously loud. Overall, between two entree’s and 4 drinks, our total was $179. Did I hate the food? Not at all. Would I be a returning customer? Not at all.

I had an amazing experience here. There was a minor hiccup with my reservation. Never the less the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. The food was amazing and flavorful. The atmosphere was great as well. 10/10 highly recommend!

Victory East has fabulous food and our waiter was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back! And we checked out Busy Signal before we left and we were blown away by the atmosphere! What a gem!

Great place for a romantic dinner or first date, enjoyed my birthday dinner with just my husband and I. Food was just as good as the service and prices are reasonable.

When we first got there I had a reservation for the restaurant, but they put me for the lounge because I didn’t answer a text in time, I was at work. We had to sit at the bar instead. They took Long to even acknowledge us. The food took forever to come out. The food is average. I could’ve cooked that better at home. We drove an hour while we just to come there never again!

We had a great date night. The food was delicious and seasoned to perfection. The drinks were also great! The ambience and friendliness from staff and owners was so welcoming. The speak easy in the back was such a vibe. We will be back for sure.

The ambiance was neat and drinks were really good, but wasn't the experience I was expecting from a new speakeasy trying to make its way in Austin. The first server we had (potentially the bartender) was good, then we got another server who was a female and she was not as friendly. We ordered the mac and cheese appetizer and it took a long time, more than it should. They kept saying there was a mix up in the kitchen, then when we finally got them they were not the best - tasted similar to a powdered Kraft Mac and cheese frozen then bread and fried. With Austin having such an incredible food scene, would have expected better from a speakeasy with such a neat vibe and great drinks trying to build their reputation.

Our 1st visit here was a small, three-party celebration for my husband’s birthday dinner. The dining area is quaint, so remember to make a reservation. There was a party of 15 there at the same time as our reservation, so I’m certain that is what slowed our service down a bit. The staff was still polite & professional. We had the pleasure of a live saxophonist, who was awesome and the selections were amazing. That being said, it was hard to communicate at our table with the music. Our meals were fantastic. We had the oxtail beef stew, blackened catfish and fried catfish. Everything was served hot and plated nicely. We ordered truffle fries as an appetizer and were shocked by the large serving size. The potatoes that came with the stew were whipped to perfection. The greens served with the fish dinners were definitely something to write home about…great job! Unless it comes with your meal, I would pass on the coco bread…sounds better than it tastes.Drinks were quite pricey, although tasty. We did venture to Busy Signal following our meal and it too was a vibe! Bring your jacket though, they keep it chilly there. We will definitely be back!
