I was disappointed with the entertainment. It is not good practice to not advertise who will be entertaining and what type of music they will be playing. I was looking for something more upbeat and would not have come on a Friday had I known the classic jazz group played that day.

Went with a group of 6 and ordered lots of things to try. Highlights were the octopus, the smashed potatoes, the lamb pasta, mushroom pasta and the milk buns. For dessert, the olive oil cake and the chocolate & caramel were wonderful! Sorry to say that the live music was disappointing. After hearing so many good things, I was surprised to find the vocalist/trombone player to be mediocre at best. The guys on drums and keys were EXCELLENT. Those two alone would've been a better vibe. The food was good enough that I'd definitely go back again and cross my fingers for a different vocalist.

Tina Wilcox is one of the most well-respected trombone players in LA and around the world (the list of jazz bands she has recorded/performed with is impressive), but we must agree that taste can be subjective. Without a doubt the best dining experience in LA. Beautiful space, incredible staff, great wine list and the food is Micheline caliber! The Tomahawk steak and Duck are absolutely incredible!! I’d give 10 stars if I could.

This was my second time at Verse and it was a great experience. Food was amazing and service was great. Will definitely return.

This was my 4th visit to Verse. Its always such a great vibe. My only downside is I wish chef would make more shareable dishes. The pasta & risotto is barely shareable. The food is undoubtedly delicious, you cannot fault it, but its not for group dining, which I feel the majority of tables are. Always need to order 2 milk buns just to fill the gaps. Also on Saturday nights the staff are very busy compared to a Tuesday or Wednesday when the staff have more time to explain the story behind Verse, how its recorded every evening etc. Luckily I had been there enough times to tell my guests and give them the rundown while our server was busy tending to a giant group table. Still, its a spot I always recommend, I just tell them to look at the menu before they go to make sure they see something they like and are aware of how many dishes it would take to get full.
