Vernick Fish presents Philadelphia’s own, Chef Greg Vernick’s exploration beyond the boundaries of a seafood restaurant. His ingredient-driven cooking style, paired with a love for global flavors, results in an inventive menu of fish and shellfish dishes, and a range of vegetable preparations. Unfortunately we both tried a new addition to the menu, the fried lobster. The lobster was pressed paper thin, the breadcrumbs were thick and tasteless. We couldn’t tell if we were eating flattened lobster, chicken breast or veal parmigiana. A great idea but very poorly executed. However, Vernick Fish is a beautiful venue with an outstanding staff. Our server Michael was informative, knowledgeable and very helpful.

Incredible meal start to finish! Table was ready when we arrived, meal was wonderfully paced, food was amazing! No wonder it’s a difficult table to reserve. We took foodies from DC who were blown away by the experience. We shared the chilled shrimp and green papaya salad, two heirloom tomato salads and the corn and summer truffle fried rice. For dinner we enjoyed two panko crusted lobster tails, grilled black sea bass, and sea scallops a la plancha. And we had to squeeze in dessert ~ the chocolate sorbet and the sour cherry cheesecake and peach sorbet were decadent! Can’t wait to go back!

The food was extremely delicious. Balanced with texture, acidity, sweetness and gentle magical flavor. We had this incredible fluke crudo with jicama and thinly sliced plantains. Oh man. Then we also had the scallops and sea bass and eggplant Milanese. All amazing. Also our waitress was down to earth and great. Did I mention the magical mocha tart and the cherry pistachio cheesecake. Dear lord. My only issue honestly was it was a bit chilly and the restaurant decor is a tad corporate for me. Loves the flowers well and we loved sitting at the counter. Great experience.

Delicious meals. The entrees are so much more than the ingredients, they have blended flavors that made each of our meals unique and something to savor - one bite at a time.

I wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday with a very special dinner experience and I hit the jack pot with Vernick Fish. This was one of the best meals that I have ever had and I believe that Greg Vernick may be the best chef in the Philadelphia area and a real super star nationally. The Halibut and the Sea Bass were prepared to perfection with sauces that were extraordinary. The appetizers were so tasty that I was actually sad when they were devoured. Even the dessert’s were really, really good. Thanks Chef Vernick for helping to make my wife’s birthday celebration sensational!

Beautiful meal, we enjoyed every single Bite we had, from the oysters to the crudo to our main dishes to dessert, it was excellent! Everything was beautifully seasoned and the combination of flavors and textures is so well orchestrated and executed. The staff was also amazing, knowledgeable, attentive, the suggestions provided were on point. It was the perfect location for a special night out!
