Vercelli Restaurant is a family run Italian Restaurant situated in the centre of Hexham, a busy market town in Northumberland. The family, all from around the Hexham area, have worked hard over the last 4 years to modernise the cocktail bar and restaurant. All the family are involved in the business, with the aim of providing a memorable experience.

Sue, Front of House Manager, enjoys working alongside the enthusiastic team who have built a relationship with their returning customers and welcoming new, with an aim to make your experience relaxing and memorable throughout.


Executive chef, Jordan, and Head chef, Scott, source the finest Italian provisions to produce high quality Italian dishes with a modern twist.

At the front of the restaurant is a small, modern cocktail bar which hosts live music nights regularly but can be enjoyed for a bite to eat or a drink any night of the week.

    The food was delicious when it finally arrived and when we received the correct food. Unfortunately some of our group had to leave and take their food away with them as it had taken so long to arrive.

    Most enjoyable lunch. Extremely varied menu at reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will certainly return in the future.

    Good choice of food on the menu. Portions were large especially the Calzone and olives and bread. Food was very tasty. It was very busy on arrival. Service was good.

    Went with my two children.. one ordered from kids’ menu, one not. All thoroughly enjoyed what we had. Lovely seating area out the back. So impressed by the welcoming staff. Great value. Loved it!

    Our meal was a graduation celebration. The waitress was fantastic and really accommodating (including bring out a cake, portioning it for us to take home etc). The restaurant was very quiet but it was a mid week lunchtime so probably to be expected. Overall, highly recommended with a particular shout out to our waitress (sorry, didn’t get her name)

    Out of town visitor to Hexham and Vercelli’s was recommended. Made a much needed reservation. Service excellent. Food, nice and hot, well presented. Portion size was adequate. Taste somewhat bland. Certainly nothing off putting and would try again, probably several times. Large group seated next to us (14) made it difficult to converse.
