Vercelli Restaurant is a family run Italian Restaurant situated in the centre of Hexham, a busy market town in Northumberland. The family, all from around the Hexham area, have worked hard over the last 4 years to modernise the cocktail bar and restaurant. All the family are involved in the business, with the aim of providing a memorable experience.

Sue, Front of House Manager, enjoys working alongside the enthusiastic team who have built a relationship with their returning customers and welcoming new, with an aim to make your experience relaxing and memorable throughout.


Executive chef, Jordan, and Head chef, Scott, source the finest Italian provisions to produce high quality Italian dishes with a modern twist.

At the front of the restaurant is a small, modern cocktail bar which hosts live music nights regularly but can be enjoyed for a bite to eat or a drink any night of the week.

    Out of town visitor to Hexham and Vercelli’s was recommended. Made a much needed reservation. Service excellent. Food, nice and hot, well presented. Portion size was adequate. Taste somewhat bland. Certainly nothing off putting and would try again, probably several times. Large group seated next to us (14) made it difficult to converse.

    Food excellent and good value. Staff helpful and pleasant. We had three people in our group with food intolerances. Not the usual ambience of an Italian restaurant but never the less pleasant surroundings. Very popular with families. A bit noisy with the bottomless lunch entertainment in the bar area.

    Excellent service, very polite staff, problem with set main menu when waitress writing down full meal not received Gamberi al Burro received normal chips instead sweet potato fries and no sourdough daughter received no chips, so had to start meal and wait for rest of food not ideal a bit of a mix up but overall good service second time we have been as a family we will return. Is it possible to pre order two cocktails with meal? Or receive extra ice we were told we couldn't so second drink was not as nice and half got left. Thanks

    We had a lovely dinner in Vercelli Hexham. Everything about it was perfect we only wish we had more time as we were going to Queens Hall. We will certainly be back
