A favorite area for visiting guests during the summer, The Verandah sweeps across the south façade of Ocean House. The outdoor terrace overlooks the pristine croquet court, which offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Little Narragansett Bay. Fresh shellfish from nearby waters — succulent oysters, clams and lobster — are shucked to order at our traditional New England raw bar. The menu also includes savory light items such as a daily salads and an assortment of delicious sandwiches. With oversized chairs and low tables, The Verandah beckons you to relax and enjoy a brisk cocktail paired with a heavenly bite as you watch the waves crash along the shoreline.
Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows will be charged $5 per guest.
All parties larger than 6 guests will be seated at multiple tables.

Join us on the Verandah as the Ocean House celebrates their annual Beach Ball Event with our classic a la carte raw bar menu followed by an evening fireworks display. All guests (all ages) reserving a seat with us on the Verandah will pay a $50 per person non-refundable deposit at time of booking. All deposits will be applied as a credit toward the check total when joining us on July 6th. The rain date for this event is July 7th. Should the event be moved to July 7th, your non-refundable deposit will be applied to your experience on July 7th. We look forward to welcoming you!

Per usual, we had an absolutely amazing dining experience today. The service is impeccable. The clam chowder is the best in New England. It’s just always such an exquisite visit when we come here. Romaine is always so lovely and gives us the best service every visit.

The hostess was outstanding. She knew it was a special occasion and sat us at an unbelievable table. She took the time to take our picture and made us feel special. Our waitress was prompt but had to beg for salt and sugar.

There is no better place for lunch. The food is superb, the wait staff are all friendly and excellent and the Verandah is gorgeous.

Food wasn’t very good and chairs are too high and close to the table. Uncomfortable to sit in. View was gorgeous as usual and our server was very nice and personable
