Located just over the bridge from Anna Maria Island and the famous Coquina Beach State Park, the hidden gem of Longboat Key is Ventura's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar. You will find this friendly neighborhood gem tucked away in the corner at Whitney Plaza, a short drive from Sarasota and the Famous St. Armand's circle on the scenic Gulf of Mexico Drive. Ventura's is family-owned and operated, open for dinner seven nights a week. Join us before or after sunset, to enjoy homemade Italian dishes, hand-tossed pizzas, amazing deserts, a large selection of small vineyard wines, and a full bar to satisfy all your cravings. Indoor or waterfront al fresco dining is available. Private parties, wine tasting dinners, catering & special events are offered. Order ahead for full menu takeout and local delivery.

The Best! We had veal Milanese last night, it was huge and very good. The entre also came with a free salad which was one of the best salads around. This was our 4th visit and we will be back.

Another excellent meal at Ventura’s Longboat Key. Fantastic Enormous pizza cooked perfectly to our liking, lobster ravioli also our son’s firm favourite.

Wonderful family run restaurant - the red sauce was amazing! Fresh, flavorful and perfectly seasoned — we were fighting over it to dip our bread in! Meatballs were delicious too. Highly recommend.

Exceptional service but went mid afternoon on weekday. Older quaint building. Waitress was very good. Food was good. Bread excellent. Salad was good. Kids thought the pizza was good. I had the lasagna and thought it had too much ricotta. It was wasn’t my favorite but I’m married to an Italian so we eat a lot of this type of food and I may be more of a food snob. My husband liked the bolognese sauce while I was somewhat divided. It was average pricing for the area.

A wonderful Italian restaurant on LBK! Very friendly owners that greet you! We had the chicken milanese and the veal cannelloni. Both were delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!

They have an amazing summer menu from different regions of Italy that changes every week along with wine pairing from the regions. Delicious! Like having a culinary grand tour of Italy with out leaving the country! The pizza and other dishes off the menu are also very good. Lovely owners and staff that take wonderful care of you and make you feel at home.

We have been all up and down the gulf coast, and it’s sometimes hard to find a good family owned establishment where you feel the love and care in the food and service. Really enjoyed talking to owners and feeling the appreciation of being their customer.
