We went on a Wednesday evening with our friends for dinner and the food was amazing. We ordered all 3 pastas, steak, sides, and lamb chops. Everything was amazing, especially the mushroom pasta. The lamb chops were okay, but still good. Will certainly go back again!

I really appreciate that everything on the menu is gluten free as well as the kitchen’s willingness to accommodate dairy free requests. Usually service is pretty good at Vela, but last night we had a distracted server who didn’t ask once if we wanted to order more drinks. She just kept refilling our water and running away. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. Also our booth was directly facing a couple who were practically on top of each other the entire time which was really uncomfortable. This experience was a one off, however. I usually really enjoy dining at Vela

I’ve been trying to contact the restaurant by phone and also emailed them, but haven’t received a response yet. The one star is because we were charged incorrectly on our bill for one of the items. I’m hoping they will contact me to rectify this.

Food was very expensive a small side of fries was $16 as an example , and there wasn’t anything that special about it. Drinks were way over priced and watery, no effort in presentation. Restaurant wasn’t that busy but service was inconsistent. It was very load! Positives They did have a lot of gluten free options and the Fried Mushrooms were yummy.

Really nice vibe, more relaxed than the rest of the street! Really cool booths, although we didn’t get one! Annoyance is when lots of space in restaurants and they squeeze everyone in at these tiny two seaters , whatever! Service was quite good and attentive. Extra birthday things were very nice! Food was quite good : I had the octopus and broccolini! Nothing wow but tasty with a great cook and nice sauce, friend had the burrata pasta and hand the same review: good but not wow and the octopus was a little expensive ($50 for two tentacles). The only dessert that was good was the baked Alaska, the apple tart was cold and not good unfortunately! Overall, beautiful restaurant with great vibes (until they weirdly blasted some 80s pop at 8 PM), food is good but nothing to rave about!

This is definitely on my list of must visit places not to mention a great addition to The Michelin Guide. The service is always exceptional (Thank you Alexx) and the food is unique and delicious. One of the best aspects of this restaurant is that it is so accommodating for anyone who has dietary restrictions, especially those with Celiac disease, and looking for #gluten-free options. Menu highlights: 🥩 8oz strip with heirloom carrots 🐟 New Brunswick oysters 🍝 Their house made pasta is sooo decadent! 🥗 Their wedge salad is amazing and the burrata soooo creamy! 🍸 - They make a mean Paloma! 🍰 - The Opera Cake dessert is something to behold! Demolished before I could take a photo!
