We are an authentic Italian wine café, proud to offer quality Sicilian wines and spuntini appetisers across the UK. In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. A daily occasion to share moments of happiness with friends and family. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. Since then, we have been working hard to ensure that our quality and tradition could flow from the bottles to the glass in your hand.

    We have eaten here several times. But it’s getting worse. We ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. It turned up rather too quickly. And while tasty-ish, wasn’t hot. We asked for it to be warmer. Which they did do with no problem. Of course, it made the dish dryer. The other issue was the music was very loud and not so appropriate for an Italian restaurant. The staff were friendly but standing around chatting and joking near us rather than respecting our ‘romantic’ meal together. Disappointed overall.

    I made a booking for Wednesday 14th August at 12.30 for 2 people. This was confirmed by you by email with booking reference 479. On arrival the premises were closed with a sign on the door showing opening hours start at 4.00. How can Veeno and Open Table be so unprofessional to offer via your website facilities which clearly are no available. Your return comments will be most welcome. Had a vey nice meal at Miller and Carter instead. Mike

    Great service, complimentary birthday prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch. Arrived early which was no problem, we were seated straight away. Not rushed, plenty of time between courses. Great atmosphere.

    Great service and food was excellent. Good atmosphere and we decided to stay longer as the music after food service finished the night off perfectly.

    When we arrived for our 1pm table, the place was practically empty meaning there was zero atmosphere and we were sat at the back of the restaurant. After an hour or so it picked up. We had the Grande platter with was delicious and we could see the chef calving the meat and cheese. Staff were lovely. Would definitely go back again.

    Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that none of the pizza menu or lasagne was available, this limited the choice somewhat, check before you visit
