We are an authentic Italian wine café, proud to offer quality Sicilian wines and spuntini appetisers across the UK. In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. A daily occasion to share moments of happiness with friends and family. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. Since then, we have been working hard to ensure that our quality and tradition could flow from the bottles to the glass in your hand.

We had a fabulous night at Veeno. The space itself is cozy and homey. Our team of wait staff worked together efficiently and professionally to provide excellent service. The food was utterly delicious! Everything that we tried was clearly prepared with love and passion. The flavors were wonderful! My husband found 2 new wines from his flight. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in Edinburgh.

A nice place with a good atmosphere. We were a family of four and loved the kids menu with good prices. The wine menu is good. I had the ravioli with nduja and pecorino and it was spicy but the sauce included did not bring anything more to the dish. The kids liked their pizzas. I really dislike 12,5% added service charge. Even if the service and food had been outstanding which none of them were, I would never give more than 10%. For a service charge this high, above other places I have visited in Edinburg, you really have to give something extraordinary.

I have been to this restaurant many times and found it to be very good. On this occasion however, the experience was not great to say the least. The service was dreadful. We waited over 15 minutes for drinks to then learn our drink order was lost. We were advised that they could accommodate us by creating a grazing board for four people, then to be served a grazing board for two. The waiting time to be served the food was atrocious. In the end we complained. Got the bill, was charged for two bottles of wine when we only had one. To be honest it had put me off returning to this restaurant. The sad part was it was my brother’s first time and I raved about to him before going. Don’t think it will be an experience he will care to remember.

Thus a fabulous small venue. Staff are super efficient and friendly. Food is absolutely divine. It feels as if you get the best of everything from bread and olives meat and cheeses and even the lovely berries displayed on the dishes! Would really recommend this place to all!
