VAN SPEYK is a Amsterdam style Brasserie, situated in a building from 1659 in the the old warehouse district, between the Dam square and the Grand Central Station.

Van Speyk combines Classic French flavours with Traditional Dutch influences in a intimate, romantic setting
with crystal chandeliers, candle light and high ceilings.

Enjoy icons like crisp oysters and Champagne, fresh seafood and excellent meats.

Our staff is more than willing to help you make your dinner a great experience, accompanied by good wine and friendly service.

Open: Wednesday till Sunday from 17.30 till midnight ( kitchen until 10:00 pm ).

Good food and drinks are to be found at this nice staple of beautiful downtown Amsterdam, in The Netherlands. The fine evening I was there, their emphasis was on their succulent Mussels. Nice outdoor dining also available, weather permitting .

We loved the decor and vibe of this French-based restaurant with excellent service. I'm used to Alberta beef, and the ribeye was good though this is not a steakhouse. The escargot were tasty, the tomato salad was refreshing, and the mussels were nicely done. Would definitely go back.

The service at this restaurant was great, with friendly and well-mannered staff. The restaurant itself is light and spacious compared to the most Amsterdam establishments. The food was a mixed experience: the escargots and sea bass were delicious, while the mussels were just okay. Unfortunately, the steak was not up to par, as it was too rubbery.

We will certainly go back. Fully able to accommodate my wife as she is gluten intolerant and the staff was great.

Made a reservation here just to have a reserved dinner every night while on our family vacation to amsterdam. I absolutely loved Van Speyk and this was my first introduction to Dutch cuisine! Van Speyk is awesome, the service is amazing, the food is insanely good, and it isn’t too expensive. Try the asparagus soup, onion soup, gouda mac and cheese and the slow roasted beef. Even if you don’t get these, you will not be disappointed.
