Our carefully crafted prix-fixe menu showcases the best of the season, while our à la carte options offer endless possibilities for culinary exploration. This is the first review I have written in my 65 years, so I am not a hard person to please. However, I think this place should be able to do better. It is definitely a beautiful place, but more importantly, it is a restaurant and I think they are trying to be something they clearly aren't. I didn't like that you are forced into an appetizer, main course and desert - I did know this going in, but I found I didn't like it. That is not their fault. However, when I asked the waitress to explain what each of the different things were on the appetizer board, she looked at me and said she had no idea and walked away. Solving this problem further did not occur to her. Staff should ALWAYS have tasted and be able to describe the food. The main course of smokey paprika chicken kabobs was made with some sort of chicken meat that was not smokey and contained bone fragments. The potatoes were under cooked. When we first sat down, I ordered a drink. I saw the same drink sail by my table numerous times to other customers and inquiries to my waitress yielded a response that it was "being made." Twenty minutes later, I told her to forget it. Will not go back again. PLEASE, PLEASE RETURANTS - put up some sort of noise absorption! I really do not want to hear someone's conversation bouncing around the room.

Enjoyed the pre-fix menu for HVSF pre-show dining. Service was friendly, enjoyed the food. Beautiful location but too hot to eat outside!

Four of us liked everything about this restaurant. The view is amazing. The appetizers delicious and different. The entree and dessert really good. Also good things to say about the wine!

Turns out the restaurant is under new management and has only been open a week plus they had a wedding event at the same time, however we let our server know we had theater tickets at the festival on the property The service was so extremely slow that there was no wAy we could make it in time unless we wolfed down our entree and skipped the dessert which was part of the mandetory Otis fixed meal The main course was delicious but all of our portions were teeny like an appetizer size ( which actually helped because we were so rushed). The manager profusely apologized and halved our bill andoffered us ice cream during the intermission which was lovely Oh and the servers were amateurish required us to ask for simple things 3 and 4 times Hopefully they will get their act together and fix the problems; it is a beautiful place and the food was tasty if sparing!

We dined before a Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival performance on the grounds. The food is very good, but menu is limited to a prix fixe offering (with only one appetizer choice, a spread of different spreads). Portions are modest, but very tasty. Our main complaint is we were seated at 5:30pm and didn't receive our entrees until 7:00pm, leaving us hardly any time to eat. Fortunately, they were able to bring our desserts to the theater concession stand so that we could have them during intermission. We didn't think to mention that we were going to the theater since so many of the diners go there for that reason, and they didn't think to ask.

We had the Prix fixe begore the Hudson Valley Shakespeare performance. Everything was wonderful. The food was beautifully plated, well prepared and tasteful, and abundant. Would definitely recommend it at anytime, and especially before the performance.

We loved the food, especially the Antipasto and the desert was really good. We had the Strawberry Cream Puff. The watermelon lemonade was really good, and the watermelon alcohol beverage was good as well. We loved the entrees as well. The views and the sunset were beautiful. Lastly the staff was welcoming and helpful.
