With a curated menu of elevated tailgate fare and an extensive bar program, Utopian Tailgate delivers high times, chill vibes, and an unforgettable experience where the party never ends... and neither do the views.

Perched high atop Piper's Alley, above world-famous comedy enclave The Second City, Utopian Tailgate is Chicago's best never-ending rooftop party. Super-sized Jenga, drinking games, disco dance party, and a whole lot more mix with elevated eats and whimsical whistle-wetters all year ‘round.

Reservations are encouraged, but we always accept walk-ins until we reach capacity. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. We offer indoor and outdoor table reservations, as well as party booths (with minimum required spend). We're a 21+ venue.

The service was great, our server I believe her name was Leana (sorry if I got it wrong) was awesome. She made sure we had everything we wanted and helped us pick food items and drinks that worked for our outing

My experience at Utopian was quite mixed. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I particularly enjoyed the colorful decor. However, the food was just average, and as someone who does not eat meat, I found the vegan options to be extremely limited. The service also left much to be desired. Our waitress, although very sweet, was overwhelmed and took a long time to attend to our table, even though it wasn't a busy day. Overall, while I appreciate certain aspects of the restaurant, I do not plan to return. However, I will share my experience with others who may want to give Utopian a try.

I was there celebrating my bday. Our waitress seemed to have very poor energy around us and avoided us as much as possible to the point of our food being delivered cold and telling us if we wanted water we had to go to the bar to get it. The lobster roll was not anything how described on the menu..mostly onion and celery and just a hint of flavor of lobster..yet it was $30. Other than those issues, it was overall good..beautiful atmosphere and good drinks

I like the experience coming here the only complaint I have about it was how the game set up is. If you are coming here and want to play they games your better off booking a table outside because once you book inside you won’t find any space to play games outside

Got there and they didn’t ask us if we had a reservation until 10 minutes after. We waited over 30 minutes to get drinks, food came out first. Waited for waitress but she never came back to see if we needed another drink. We went to use the bathroom and when we came back they had given up our table to another group. We hadn’t even closed out the tab. Service was horrible! Our chicken burger wasn’t properly cooked, but we couldn’t say anything because no one came to check in. Outdoor games were always occupied! Very busy and not enjoyable. Not the place to spend a birthday. And on top of that when we went to close the tab, they added 20% tip without asking. Service was so horrible, they should have asked if we wanted to tip.
