Farm-to-table dining in the comfort of our home: that is the unique experience you will find at Urban Hearth. Located in a cozy North Cambridge storefront, our intimate dining room, knowledgeable, friendly staff, and exquisitely crafted menu are the heart of our dinner service. Join us for a la carte or at our chef's counter where you'll have the pleasure of interacting with Chef Erin Miller while dining.

We share a story of culture, community, discovery and home. The globally-inspired, locally-sourced dishes we serve celebrate our rich and complex connection with food. The table is set, whether marking a special occasion or the end of a busy day, we look forward to sharing the evening with you. We welcome private event bookings for graduations, birthdays, weddings and more. To equalize the pay disparity between tipped staff & kitchen staff during our busy times, we add a 5% kitchen appreciation fee to each check. We require 24 hours notice for all cancellations.

Our chef's counter offers 4 seats with an exclusive view into the kitchen. 5-course chefs menu with optional wine pairing. An outstanding farm-to-table meal created right in front of you while you chat with our team of talented chefs. When booking, please share dietary restrictions. Note: Our menu for the chef's counter experience is ideal for adventurous diners. This menu changes daily and not all dietary restrictions and preferences can be accommodated. Please allow at least 2.5 hours for your dinner.

Still my favorite Boston area foodie spot. Love this team and space! The collaboration menu was nuanced and special. Thank you for another wonderful solo date night, all.

We went for a special "One Hundred Mile" evening where all ingredients were sourced within one hundred miles of the restaurant. The theme of the evening was American southern-influenced and Thai dishes prepared by an outside chef. The whole experience was beautifully paced, and the dishes were Michelin-quality. An informal but amazing evening. The staff could not have been more attentive and knowledgeable.

The 100 Mile dinner was such a special experience. The thought and care that went into each dish was palpable. Urban Hearth continues to set the standard for creative cooking and hospitality in Cambridge.

We booked the chef's table tasting menu. The flavors were creative and thoughtful, and the service was friendly and attentive. Two things would have made the experience outstanding. First, some of the food was lukewarm when we got it. Second, despite five courses, I was still hungry when we left. The portions for the fish and meat course were small. (My husband ate his steak in a single bite.)

Hi Camille, we take feedback very seriously, so thank you for sharing your experience with us. The chef's tasting is designed to be multiple small portions. Most folks are pretty stuffed by the time they head home and it's a delicate balance between too much and not enough, depending on your preferences. We're sorry we left you wanting more. Do give us another chance so we can wow you!

My friends and I love to explore all that the NE food scene has to offer and Urban Hearth is no different. The intimacy of the restaurant lends itself well to a great date night spot or a wonderful place for friends to catch up. The food: genuinely outstanding both in terms of flavor, presentation and in composition. The service: Sam was a delight to speak to and ask about recommendations - the feta gnudi (don’t pass it up, the broth is delicious) the beef short rib (as luxurious as you could hope). In short - don’t pass up going to Urban Hearth for a foodie’s dream.

The kitchen was understaffed so the meal took a very long time to come out (over 2 hours for 4 dishes, two of which were bread and salad). We declined to order dessert because it would have taken another hours! Waitstaff was a bit rude about it. The short rib was absolutely outstanding.

Phenomenal food, service, and ambiance!! Went to celebrate a birthday at the Chef’s table and enjoyed creative and delicious 5-course meal with innovative wine pairing. Everyone was so so pleasant and welcoming. Very knowledgeable staff and the Chef was engaging and brilliant. Their commitment to sustainability is admirable. This is a place to return to frequently!

Delicious food and drinks. If you are ok with CLOSE seating arrangements with other tables - this is your place. The staff was lovely and the food very tasty - only hitch for me was how tightly we were seated with other guests.
