Inspired by the rich history of Pier 38, Upstairs at Pier 38 is a place to gather that encompasses locally caught seafood, sourced by the renowned Honolulu Fish Auction, featuring USDA Prime Steak. Our Culinary Team adds their own creativity to the menu by collaborating with Chef Nico Chaize, to create island cuisine using rustic French techniques.

Experience our cozy lounge setting inspired by a “home away from home.” Smokey wood accents with high industrial ceilings, glowing lights, and a majestic copper bar will allow our guests to unwind with ease. Seating in the dining room is spacious and perfect for large parties or an intimate date night.

We are happy to offer a contemporary wine list with old-world treats, locally crafted beers, and captivating one-of-a-kind cocktails. Our team prefers reservations; however, walk-ins are always welcome!

    We celebrated our anniversary at Nico’s Upstairs and from the moment you enter the second floor you are greeted with a warm Aloha. Phillip our waiter was attentive to our needs and very Knowledgeable in both food and liquor selection. From (First )then (Second) and (Third ),the timing was perfect upon being presented with our selected choices. The food was very delicious and seating tables spaced out in a manner giving feeling of an intimate environment . We Highly Recommend Nico’s Upstairs for a truly enjoyable experience.     Our first visit. All male floor staff came to us to say hello friendly. Fish dishes are wonderful. Expecting to try Meaty dishes in the coming new year

    Upstairs is one of my favorite restaurants outside waikiki restaurants that I really love. Food,employee ,service and Nico you have made Pier #39 alive for local to enjoy & love at Pier. Mahalo always and many more years to come

    We enjoyed our first dining experience a few weeks ago at Upstairs so we decided to celebrate a friend's birthday. The ambience and food were great. What was concerning was after we placed our entree and wine order, the food arrived. We were about a third of the way into the entree course when we realized that our wine had not arrived. I had to get up to find the server who looked at our table and asked, "Didn't the wine arrive?" when she clearly saw that it had not. There was no apology nor comment about why the "mid-dinner" wine was not served. The venue was not particularly busy so there did not appear to be any obvious excuse for this situation. We will think twice about referring friends or even dining there again.

    The service and ambience were off the chart. Had garlic fries, lobster bisque and escargot for appetizers and they were great. For entree, we had the Misyoyaki Chilean Seabass and the Seafood rice (Poelee De La Mer), and Scallops on the side. The Seafood in general was very fresh. However, I would've like the skin of the Seabass to have been more crispy and the sauce I felt was just average. The scallops were kind of bland. The Poelee was not bad, but the lobster was on the tough side. The shrimp was tasty and very tender. Had the cheesecake and tartlets for dessert. My daughter thought the tartlets were very good. The cheesecake to me, however, was just average.

    Our Server, Philip, was VERY informed and attentive! AND the rest of the staff who took care of us bringing our food and refilling our glasses were always around!! I LOVED the Pommes Frits and my French Onion Soup!! The Seared Ahi was GREAT and what they did to the potatoes in the Vegetable mix on my plate was SO GOOD!! We LOVED the Gratin Brussels AND the Gratin Potatoes!! My Trio of Tartlets that I had were EACH so Flavorful AND I couldn't believe how GOOD the Home Made Oreo Gelato was!!! What a fun night of food adventures!! Don't be afraid to ask what the French terms are!!
