Upstairs at Landrace is a casual neighbourhood bar & bistro, our food is led by ingredients which are carefully sourced from local farms and market gardens, we work with producers who have a natural approach to growing and use regenerative, high welfare farming techniques. The menu regularly features handmade pasta, line-caught Cornish fish and meat from Haye Farm in Devon, and Huntsham Farm in Herefordshire.
You can join us for a quick plate of pasta at lunchtime or a longer celebratory meal with friends & family in the evening. Our menu changes regularly, you can find sample menus updated weekly on our website.

The wine/cider list changes regularly, focusing on small European growers and makers. All our wines have been made following low intervention organic/biodynamic practices. We also pour many local naturally made ciders and perrys. Our soft drinks are made in house showcasing seasonal cordials, and aperitif/digestif offerings can bookend your meal if desired.

We ate here for the first time and it was very good. Staff were excellent, we had people with us who had dietary issues and it was dealt with so well. The staff are busy, but helpful and very efficient. The menu choice is quite small, but an exceedingly variety. We loved the cuttlefish stew, one of the tastiest things I have had for a long time, and the beef ravioli…but it was all very good. Good portion sizes. It is sharing plates, but I feel you could easily do starters and mains, with some vegetables on the side if you prefer that. A delightful find, we will be back, and would totally recommend

Outstanding quality of ingredients given the small seaonsal menu. Stuffed pasta was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended

This was our first meal at Landrace. The waitress spent time explaining how their menu worked and the right number of plates to order, which we appreciated . Overall we enjoyed the food. The pasta dish of pork and fennel needed a bit more emphasis on the fennel, but generally it was really tasty. The ambience, like many other restaurants was very reflective and therefore you get very high noise levels, where dinners are all trying to talk over everyone else. Our big concern however was that with the open kitchen you could see the chefs at work, where one of the female chefs was continuously tasting what she was cooking and then continuing to use that spoon to cook the dish with, rather than putting it into wash up. I feel the kitchen needs to address their hygiene standards in this respect. Otherwise a nice meal

We really appreciated our experience. The plates were creative and well presented ; the food was tasty. The service was welcoming, simple and attentionate. We truly recommand this restaurant which was our best food experience of our vacations.

Always a warm welcome which is a great start. The menu is full of sharing plates with such unusual combinations that it is tempting to try them all. Everything was delicious and served at a steady pace. We finished our evening having a lovely chat with Rob the chef/owner, who was charming. We will return.
