We had relatives in from Oklahoma and wanted to share a special evening with them. My husband and I decided on Union Hill. The food was terrific as has always been the case when we were there. The hostess seated us in the bar. Union Hill has four table tops in the bar area. I regret not speaking up and requesting a table in another section. When we were seated, the restaurant was fairly empty but within 30 minutes the bar was full, tv was on showing football and the four tables in the bar were full. You couldn’t hear yourself think much less be heard when you tried to speak. We literally sat during what was to be an enjoyable dinner without speaking to each other. I mentioned to the hostess on the way out how terribly noisy our seating area had been and questioned why she seated us in the bar. She told me I should’ve asked to move. I told her we had written on our Open Table reservation that we had guests from out of town and we were celebrating two birthdays. I mentioned to the hostess I thought you got “preferred” seating when you had Open Table reservations. She seemed surprised at that comment. We will return because we really like the food and service but will certainly be vocal when taken to our seats if they attempt to seat us in the bar again. I question why diners are put in the bar for an evening’s meal anyway.

Union Hill Grill is a great place to unwind at the end of the week with a good drink, good food and friendly service. Nothing pretentious, just a really comfortable place that’s staffed with folks who really seem to care.

Food is always great but on Thursdays the $5 martinis are on point. Good pours and a local vodka/gin used. 8 different options. Good bar ambience.

We waited almost 15 minutes for someone to come to our table to attend to us to offer even water and then left. While the menu looked very good I am not able to comment on the cuisine as we did not stay to sample it.

I loved the chicken I usually get and my husband’s short ribs were excellent. I love the new set up with the door at the end now. Very cute.

We went for our anniversary dinner. Service was excellent and food was excellent as well. Our server did an amazing job taking care of us. We brought in a bottle of wine as they charge a modest corkage fee. UHG has a great local neighborhood vibe.
