I don’t normally leave reviews but I wanted to shout out to the incredible service I received when dining here for my dad’s birthday. In my reservation I noted it was my dad’s birthday and that if they could do anything complimentary it would be appreciated. The staff sat us at a nice booth, immediately wished him a happy birthday when we sat down, gave him a complimentary dessert of his choice with a candle, made modifications to the food for him, patiently listened about his allergies/food sensitivities, brought out a bottle of sauce to proactively read ingredients with my dad and see if they were all safe for him… I could keep going with stellar examples but I’ll stop there. By far the best most attentive and excellent above and beyond service received here. I don’t focus on service at restaurants as a diner much, but I couldn’t help but want to say something great publicly about the top notch service here. Thank you so much to ALL of the staff. The food was great and exactly what you’d hope for when making a reservation to dine here! Look no further for fried chicken around Union Station! I will happily revisit here soon :)

I went to Union Chicken because I would be in the area to attend Meridian Hall. It was a date night and Union Chicken was recommended to me by a coworker. The hostess was amazing in having our reservation ready. She allowed us a selection of seats. The server taking orders and server bringing out the food could have been better. The food was amazing! It came out quickly and portions were just right.

We were early for the res but they let us sit and wait for our third to arrive. Also gave us a booth at our request and our waiter was very nice and funny (helped us wave to our third from the back of the restaurant 😂)

A place with a hint of racism. We went there, a party of 2, had a reservation, the person who greeted us was a little hesitant with a contemptuous look. She thought we wouldn't be able to afford the restaurant because of the Walmart grocery bag I had in my hand and my dressing. My partner, she too felt a bit odd when they sat us at the worst location possible even when there were many open tables, close to the exit with a column preventing me from even sitting comfortably on the chair. The only good thing was the manager, who was really friendly and kind enough to move us to a better table. I think she saw me struggling and came to ask what happened (not sure). Then came the order taker, who didn't even ask me for allergies, maybe she felt Indians don't have allergies, don't know. I heard her asking for allergies and interacting friendly to the people next table. So, we get third class service because we're Indians? Then came the food, the guy that brought the food was extremely friendly. We were not even asked if we were okay and if we needed something, they just assumed we were finished and started to print the bill, when I asked for the presto discount, which further diminished the already third class attitude towards us. In conclusion, the manager and the person who brought us the food are the only positive things we experienced from here. To the other staff who took us in and took the order, have respect for everyone. Looks are not everything. And skin color and race doesn't decide anyone's eligibility to dine at a restaurant. Holding a grocery bag from Walmart is not a sign to be treated badly, neither is wearing a jogger and t-shirt (because that's my comfort dress and I wear it while traveling). I will never return to this colorist and racist place. I also don't need an apology. You can never take back what you've done to a person. This is my true and personal experience.

The chicken sandwich that is suppose to be the most popular on the menu was an over cooked small piece of thigh. It was all over cooked batter and no chicken. Ate there once before and it was far better.
