Union & Finch is an American style bistro located at 1528 West Union Street in Allentown offering lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends. The menu consists of casual fare that will include "comfort" foods along with familiar favorites with a twist. We have a seasonal rotation of select items on the menu while keeping our concept simple. Our goal is to offer quality food and drinks at reasonable prices on a daily basis with a mature sense of hospitality and playful vibe. We combine the nostalgia of a long-lost neighborhood joint with a modern bistro setting to create the area’s newest destination for relaxed, casual dining.

We were a party of four with going to a 7:30pm show at the PPL Center. We had a 5:45 reservation. When we got to the restaurant, we were a few minutes early and told our table was still occupied, but the people were eating dessert and should be done shortly. No problem. It was 6pm and we still weren't seated, so we told them we have a show to get to and asked if our table was almost ready. It was, but it seems they forgot to check. We were seated in the outside porch sections, which is very casual with picnic tables. It is March and cool outside, but the porch was heated so it was comfortable; it was fine. The restaurant was extremely busy. Our server came over quickly and took drink orders, and warned us the bar was backed up. We put our orders in for food right away concerned about the timing since we were seated late. The wait time for the drinks wasn't too bad and the food came out quickly. The food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately, because of the late seating, we arrived 10 minutes late for the show. All in all, we would recommend this restaurant, but if you are going to see a show, book an extra 15 minutes early in case you are seated late. Also, if we were to go back, especially in the colder weather, we would ask to be seated in the back/side inside room. The front room where the bar is located was extremely loud. The back/side inside room seemed to be more quiet and had a nicer atmosphere than the porch.

We were in Allentown for a comedy show at PPL. It was a Thursday night - their burger special night. I got the smash burger and my husband got the Union Burger. We got the cheese curds appetizer. Everything was absolutely delicious. Burgers came with a beer or a milkshake. We got the milkshake! Also delicious! Our server was so sweet and helped us decide what to order. Such a great find!!!!

Great spot! We were seated quickly and only waited a minute or two before our server arrived. Great selection of drinks, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. The menu had some diversity - meats, seafood, and vegetarian options. The food came out.quickly and was temperature perfect. Very, very flavorful. Just a great overall experience. The only issue is parking. Street parking only and a little hard to find spots.

Bar service always seems slow when we’re seated in the patio area. Specifically ordered drinks to be brought with our meal when we placed our food order. Drinks arrived after dinner was finished. Placed reservation for a 78th birthday and made specific mention of the occasion twice in Open Table. Restaurant did nothing. Not even a mention of “Happy Birthday” by staff. Food was decent but overall a disappointing experience.

The brunch was delicious, with lots to choose from. We sat outside in the heated "greenhouse" area. It was plenty warm. The music a bit loud at times, though, while we were trying to have a conversation. It was a very busy Saturday morning there. Happy to get a spot in the parking lot. Always a great choice no matter the time of day. Make a reservation!
