    Fabulous meal. Did the set menu with matched beverages. Beautiful presentation and very tasty. Service was impeccable. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and very serene.

    On my most recent visit, I ventured beyond past tasting menus and encountered even more delights. A fascinating ahi tartare. Foie gras gyoza?! A perfectly delicate branzino and more! Plus, perfectfully thoughtful wine pairings to accompany the journey. Top-notch all around. Iʻm more a quality over quantity diner, and find their servings just right for the sampling I want to do. In my experience, this spot has a relaxed, non-rushed, and attentive vibe. I also find their pricing more appealing because there isnʻt the clamor, table-turn-over quota, or required formality of nearby peer establishments. Much mahalo to Abby, Vikram, Henry, and Lee for curating great dining experiences!

    お料理とサービングしてくださる方々とのコミュニケーション、両方ともが素晴らしい体験でした! お酒が好きな方は、ペアリングをお願いするのがおすすめです。 日本の食材も使われているので、やっぱりおいしさに安心感があって、その点もよかったです。 テイスティングメニュー(コースメニュー)のワイキキコースとカレーコース、アラカルトをオーダーしました。 量の点でいうと、日本人でしたらカレーコースで十分、ワイキキコースはもうお腹いっぱい、、という感じです。アラカルも3つたのむと料理数はワイキキコースと同じです。 デザートもすごくおいしいのでコースをぜひ!なので、朝食よりもディナーで。

    This was our first time dining at UMI and we had wonderful experience. Will surely return to try other dishes on the menu. Our friend recommended us to dine there. So glad we did. We will most definitely recommend UMI to all of our friends and families.

    While the food and ambiance was good. Service was scattered for the amount of tables being served. Half the time filling water up for half of the table and leaving the other half without water. Taking an inordinate amount of time for the food to come out.(it wasn’t busy)Your advertising is $30-50 a plate, but when we can in, it was that price PER COURSE more than tripling our expectations in cost per person. I wish I had better understanding before making the reservation, but with a cost of $50 a person charge not keeping the reservation, we felt a bit stuck. Food overall was decent but definitely not for the price we paid for it.

    Umi and Chef Vikram Garg and his lovely wife, Abby, know the beauty of hospitality in an elegant setting of their restaurant. Umi is by far the best fine dining experience here in the islands that my husband and I have experienced. If you love seafood with flavors of nuance and story, Umi will not disappoint. My husband had the Umi prix fixe and every dish was outstanding. I got a biteful of everyone of his dishes-and could not help myself by uttering, "oh my God." every single time. He uses fresh ingredients sourced locally and abroad, plated beautifully with regard to savoring every bite, again to experience subtle flavors tied together to elevates your whole experience. All prepared to perfection. The service is beyond- not intrusive. At the end of our experience, Abby and Chef came to thank us and "talk story" with no "airs" but a real human connection between hosts and their guests - that takes Umi to another level.     I recently had the pleasure of dining at Umi by Vikam, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The food was nothing short of awesome. If I had a Michelin Star to give, I would seriously consider awarding one to Vikam for his creative and impeccable taste in dishes. I ordered the Umi tasting menu and decided to substitute salmon for the ribeye or tenderloin, and it was a decision I won't regret! Each dish was a delightful exploration of flavors that truly showcased the chef's talent and vision. The hostess, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was absolutely wonderful—so nice and engaging! She shared insightful details about the chef and the restaurant, which added a personal touch to the dining experience. The presentation of the food was perfect, and while there were a couple of minor hiccups, they were hardly worth mentioning against the overall excellence of the meal. I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
