A space for artists by artists, we believe that dinner is an art too. Our seasonal chef is featured just as prominently as the musical performers on stage.

Paired with a locally-focused wine and beer list, Umbra is a perfect date night destination to enjoy delicious offerings while enjoying inspired live performances from a rich tableau of musical stylings. If you're looking for a celebratory night out with friends and family, our mezzanine lounge can fit larger parties up to twenty without the need to rent out the full space.

Stop by for market-fresh small plates, and a menu that varies with vibrant surprises from week to week, and even night to night. Our chef will design the menu each evening based on the freshest ingredients sourced that very same day.

We have an upstairs mezzanine that allows for parties up to 20 to reserve as a private area with a dedicated server. Unlike most places, this won't require you to rent out the space as a whole, essentially allowing you to have your own private area within the larger event. This lets you book for special occasions and still enjoy our programming!

We will recommend cocktails and/or a bottle of wine based on what is on the tasting menu that night as well, but that choice is ultimately up to you! The Chef's Tasting Menu for 2 includes jalapeño cornbread, 2 sides, a salad, and a main. The Chef's Tasting Menu for 4+ covers our whole menu: a double serving of cornbread, 4 sides, 2 salads, and 2 mains. *2 person minimum

Wednesdays are for comedy at Umbra! Come see some of New York's best comedians in a space that gives more art-deco jazz bar than dingy comedy club! With a full dinner menu, incredible wine selections, and a spacious room, this is the perfect date night spot, or a night out in Bushwick with a group of friends looking to laugh. Ticket price is variable - usually between $5-15/person - with all proceeds going directly to the comedians.

All the dishes were delicious and the tasting menu is a good value for what you get! Plus FREE music from really talented musicians while you’re eating, and a nice drinks list (just wine-based cocktails, but they’re good!) I would definitely go back!

This place is beyond amazing! If you’re on the fence just take the leap and book for a night. The chefs tasting menu is beyond incredible and a great price point for the quality and quantity you’re served. The vibe is super welcoming, we went on a Sunday where they had an open stage, so many talented people coming together to make music in the moment. I’d 100% come back and will be recommending to everyone!

This is a music venue that serves an excellent meal and a small, but lovingly, brilliantly curated wine selection. Just go. You will be delighted by the ambience, your dinner, your wine and the handmade, live music.

Umbra is a gorgeous, multi-use space with fabulous food and service. My boyfriend and I had our anniversary dinner there, and we were able to watch the jazz band and poets perform together from the balcony. They multi-course dinner was also astounding, complete with drinks and excellent, warm service. I can't recommend this space enough!

Noise level influenced by the concert/was appropriate considering there was live music. The person who waited our table was friendly; they recommended food and wines and helped make the event feel welcoming. Our booth was very comfortable. Ambiance was good. A lovely night altogether. We plan to be back.

I love the ambiance, staff members, the live music. It was a beautiful experience. They do not have a big selection of food, it’s more like appetizers. They also do not sell mix drinks with alcohol. They do let you try their wines before you buy which is pretty dope. The owner was very attentive which I love. Overall I give the place an 8 out of 10 since they didn’t have a great selection of food and drinks

Umbra is our new favorite spot in Brooklyn. Amazing food, accompanied by awesome music, and attentive waitstaff in a beautiful space that is acoustically treated and the sound is so goooood in there!

The food at Umbra was delicious- a small seasonal menu that was share-able. The main reason we went was to see the music which started close to on time and was absolutely great - jazz inspired melodic experimentation within a structure the night I was there. I will definitely go back.
