Umberto Corteo learned the definition of hard work very early in life. Born in a rustic village on the outskirts of war-torn Naples, Umberto worked the fields of his father’s farm to help feed his family of 13. The seventh son of eleven children he quickly learned to make the best of what little he had and gained an abundant appreciation for the simple gifts nature provided.

Through dedication and hard work, Umberto and Carlo have made Umberto’s what it is today. They are proud to bring Umberto’s to Massapequa Park with the next generation of the family owning and operating the location. Carlo and Umberto’s children have carried on the Umberto’s tradition and are honored to serve you at Umberto’s of Massapequa Park. Soon!

The food was outstanding. The lobster ravioli was one of the best I have ever had. This is saying a lot as I have eaten all over the world. The sauce was phenomenal. I also enjoyed the baked clams and the fried calamari. Both prepared to perfection. My only complaint was that there was only one waiter for about 20 tables. We waited 35 minutes for someone to take are order. Then the food took another 35 minutes. We were brought the appetizers with our main course with no time to enjoy the appetizers. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The service needs major improvement. I would definitely go back because of the food quality.

Party of 6 for mothers day at 3pm. We were warmly greeted. They have much more than Pizza. The appetizers were baked clams, mussels in white sauce, calamari. All good. House garden salad was large and very good. The dinners were ample and and delicious.

This is our new favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. I made a reservation, but probably didn't need it. Took our orders and brought drinks quickly. Food was fast. I especially like the pizza. Waiters were attentive and quick. Good drinks.

We had a reservation, & they even called us to confirm it earlier that day, yet we were never seated. We had to find a waitress to check in & then had to speak with the manager after 20 minutes. After a half an hour, still nothing. So we left & they never tried to stop us. I looked over & he looked glad. Why did they take our reservation, & even confirm it, if they were too busy to accommodate us? No apologies, no offers to make it right, nothing. So much for valuing customers. Shameful & unprofessional. The reservation meant nothing. This is the first time I've ever encountered such treatment. & we eat out ALOT. We usually go to the Wantagh location, but my daughter wanted try this one for her birthday. But we ended up having to scramble last minute to find another place. Thankfully we did, & enjoyed it, in spite of this setback. The food review I had to give now is for the Wantagh location for past meals, as we never got to taste the food here. Umberto's needs to seriously consider who they allow to manage new locations & represent the name they worked so hard & so long to cultivate. They shouldn't let rudeness sully their good name.
