Our reservation was 7:30p and we didn't get seated to our table until after 8p. Not enough waitstaff to support the volume of a Sat night. In addition, when ordering our meal, we ordered the gnocchi - the waiter asked from the special (sweet potato gnocchi) or the menu which we indicated the menu. When the dish came out, it was basically a bowl of tomatoes/tomato sauce with gnocchi (no mozzarella). The description on the menu says light marinara sauce with melted mozzarella. When we finally got the waiters attention, he argued that he asked if we wanted gnocchi in red sauce and that is what we said. Being that he didn't write down our order and continued to push it was our fault, we will not be returning to this restaurant. There are too many just as good Italian restaurants to patronize one that argues with the customer!

When making reservation I notated about 3 other people with allergies to shellfish, squid and nuts. After telling our host when we arrived then to our waiter about allergies we ordered our food. I ordered a salmon special and when AFTER arrived it had clams around the plate. On the menu the clams were NOT listed but when it arrived the waiter said that it is included with the salmon BUT it is not listed on the menu. When I refused the dish so that my family does not get sick or worse the waiter said “Oh I didn’t know you had an allergy I thought it was only the others” The waiter then offered to make the dish again without the clams and I refused as the whole table already had their entrees and I didn’t want to hold them up. The salmon was taken off the bill and I had NO DINNER except for bread and butter. Thanks a lot!

Outside seating allowed our party of 9 to enjoy a birthday party with family and friends. Their outdoor space was surrounded by beautiful basil plants fully screening the parking area, tv's and music on the opposite wall served the space well and fans provided a great breeze to quell the summer evening. Service was professional and personable, a great team served our party. The food was awesome, appetizers and mains were on point and delicious, everything served on time. Overall a great experience! Thank you Umberto's of Glen Cove!

The best thing I can say is that there was plenty of parking because the restaurant was closed. Open Table should be aware of when one of the restaurants they are providing reservation service for is not open.
