Undisclosed until we got halfway up a few flights of stairs, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights the rooftop patio “restaurant” we made reservations for is essentially an open-air bar, complete with a DJ and big screen TV showing … was it Euro football match? So somewhere between a club experience and a sports bar. Which I guess is okay, if that’s what you’re looking for. But if you’re looking, as we were, for a nice Thursday date night summer patio dinner and conversation over a bottle of wine, this is definitely not what you’re looking for. In retrospect, we could have refused our table and requested to be seated inside. But from what we could see (it was very dark) the restaurant inside was close to empty. Finally, the wine list is just OK but all quite overpriced. All of that said, the inventive menu was good. Perhaps a little overreliant on drama over substance…but creative and tasty.

A perfect night from start to finish. A stunning rooftop patio staffed with professional servers who went out of their way to ensure a memorable dining experience. Food was delicious, cocktails were spectacular.We will definitely return.

One of our best meals in Toronto! Cocktails were fantastic and roof top patio was so nice Chilean Sea Bass Spring Rolls Oysters Tuna Tacos Miso Black Cod Biang Biang with Wagyu All were top notch

We had a 6:30pm reservation inside but ended up sitting on patio as it was a Tuesday and very quiet inside. We enjoyed happy hour menu and also ordered off the dinner menu. Food was all very good. However, it became very cold and windy outside and there were no heaters in use. It became very uncomfortable. Food ordered from the happy hour menu was served at a reasonable time. But we waited an unacceptable length of time for our main courses which were ordered before 7:15pm and were served about 8:45pm. The waiter was not following up, was not checking on the order, was not apologetic and once I conveyed that we were ready to leave prior to receiving our entrees, the food arrived but was quite cold. The waiter had also been pushing us to order more food stating how small the portions were. For 3 of us, we had ordered 6 appetizers and 2 mains and we were being advised to order more. We actually found the portions to be quite sufficient and we were glad that we didn’t listen. In spite the food being very good, we won’t be coming back to this restaurant.

The appetizers were inventive and whimsical but don’t expect a big portion for those items. The mains however, were the real highlight of the meal. Well balanced, great portions and all at a reasonable price point. You can’t miss ordering anything from the menu. As a former chef myself that’s saying a lot. 5/5 would go again.

1st visit to Ultra (to use a gift card purchased at a fundraiser event). First impression when we arrived was WOW! This spot was beautiful, elegant and very warm and comfortable. The service from the staff and GM were excellent. The cocktails to start were outstanding followed by an outstanding meal we shared (2 delicious appetizers plus 2 great mains (miso sablefish - to die for + grilled lamb chops (WOW!) + pasta (UDON NOODLE CACIO PEPI - recommended by Antonio (GM)). Accompanied by a great bottle of Italian Red (2020 Collegonzi Sangiovese) Antonio raved about. Great choice. Finished the meal off with 2 delicious desserts that capped off a great meal and food experience. Place was just get busy as the music started to play and the night crowd filled this great spot. Will definitely be back to this neighbourhood gem. Outstanding

Beautifully decorated space. Service was attentive. Food was delicious! Happy hour menu was excellent. Would recommend!

Roman was a great server. Very attentive and offers great option like the Cava de Oro Tequila! Amazing taste. Antonio was friendly and checked the table! Music choices were great and when I asked I heard that was an app called Reina doing that which could not meet her of course ;)))) hehe joking… Anyways, amazing place. We had booked for the outdoor but rain cancelled that hence coming back soon;)
