In a stunning Cornish Atlantic setting, just a mile from St Ives, Ugly Butterfly restaurant and bar offers spectacular views across one of the worlds most beautiful coasts, Carbis Bay. Ugly Butterfly showcases chef Adam Handling’s passion for converting locally-sourced, quality ingredients into beautifully-presented dishes, packed full of flavour. Offering an all-day dining experience, the Ugly Butterfly bar uses trims and offcuts from the ingredients used in the restaurant to create delicious drinks and bar snacks. This bar menu will illustrate that there is no such thing as food waste, much in the same way that there is no such thing as an Ugly Butterfly.

The team made our visit so special, not only with their impeccable service but the finest of details, which even included a birthday card signed by the team. The knowledge, thought and aesthetic behind the whole night was absolute perfection, especially in terms of the sustainability and sense of community behind the food. Already planning our next trip for our next special occasion.

We made a last minute booking for the tasting menu at lunchtime. The whole experience was outstanding and we would happily wholeheartedly recommend. The team were amazing and would like to thank all of the staff for their hard work, Jay hosted our table and guided us through the meal and the concept behind the restaurant. We would just like to say a huge THANK YOU and hope you all have a fantastic summer.

Expectations were high. They were surpassed. As raving fans of all of Adam's restaurants, the bar is set really high here in what must be one of the UK's finest looking restaurants and that's before we start talking about the food and service ...

We are local to the area but even so, the view is still spectacular and with a window seat, this really enhanced the experience. The Afternoon Tea for the five of us was superb and even though we have taken afternoon tea in a few London hotels, we all agreed, this one was far better in many ways. Each course was explained to us with a little detail, the presentation is incredible and the food itself was delicious. Thank you.

Incredible view, interesting and delicious food, lovely smell in the restaurant and I really liked the music playing. We particularly enjoyed the sommelier, Stephanie, with her obvious interest in all the different wines. It was so nice to keep the dogs with us too, relaxing for all of us!

Overall a pleasant experience with good tasty food. Sadly one of our main dishes arrives cold, which is not something I would expect in a restaurant of this standard. We paid the service charge as the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant although this disappoint us a little.
