In a stunning Cornish Atlantic setting, just a mile from St Ives, Ugly Butterfly restaurant and bar offers spectacular views across one of the worlds most beautiful coasts, Carbis Bay. Ugly Butterfly showcases chef Adam Handling’s passion for converting locally-sourced, quality ingredients into beautifully-presented dishes, packed full of flavour. Offering an all-day dining experience, the Ugly Butterfly bar uses trims and offcuts from the ingredients used in the restaurant to create delicious drinks and bar snacks. This bar menu will illustrate that there is no such thing as food waste, much in the same way that there is no such thing as an Ugly Butterfly.

    For what was a stunning sunny evening we were given a corner table overlooking beautiful Carbis Bay. The taster menu did not disappoint, subtle exquisite flavours, fresh oysters, lobster, seafood, lamb, service was impeccable and friendly without being overly obtrusive. Two comfortable hours of fabulous food. We stuck to cocktails throughout which were well made, the wine list is extensive and has wines for all tastes and budgets. It's our second visit in two years, and while the bill isn't moderate and will certainly challenge many, it's a one off experience that's worth the visit for special occasions and celebrations.

    Booked a table for my sister's Birthday and according to her she had an amazing experience. Service, food, view, everything was outstanding. She even got a signed Birthday card. Thanks so much for making her day so special. Looking forward to visit the restaurant myself some time soon!

    One of the best experiences we have had by far. The flavours were unbelievable and the presentation of each dish were incredible. The atmosphere and the location is fascinating and adds to the overall experience. The staff are a credit to the business but also enthusiastic in presenting the creative dishes of talented chefs. Thank you for a perfect dinner.
