In a stunning Cornish Atlantic setting, just a mile from St Ives, Ugly Butterfly restaurant and bar offers spectacular views across one of the worlds most beautiful coasts, Carbis Bay. Ugly Butterfly showcases chef Adam Handling’s passion for converting locally-sourced, quality ingredients into beautifully-presented dishes, packed full of flavour. Offering an all-day dining experience, the Ugly Butterfly bar uses trims and offcuts from the ingredients used in the restaurant to create delicious drinks and bar snacks. This bar menu will illustrate that there is no such thing as food waste, much in the same way that there is no such thing as an Ugly Butterfly.

    We are local to the area but even so, the view is still spectacular and with a window seat, this really enhanced the experience. The Afternoon Tea for the five of us was superb and even though we have taken afternoon tea in a few London hotels, we all agreed, this one was far better in many ways. Each course was explained to us with a little detail, the presentation is incredible and the food itself was delicious. Thank you.

    Overall a pleasant experience with good tasty food. Sadly one of our main dishes arrives cold, which is not something I would expect in a restaurant of this standard. We paid the service charge as the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant although this disappoint us a little.

    Wow! It was an absolutely incredible dining experience from start to finish. We were a party of 4 adults, 1 x 6 year old and a 5 month old baby. The staff were attentive and incredible with our 6 year old. The meal blew us away and of course the amazing setting. It’s so refreshing to find a dining experience of this high standard where you don’t feel unwelcome with children. There is plenty of room and funky music played in the background. Thank you to the Ugly Butterfly team for making my birthday celebrations so memorable.

    We had a fabulous evening. Food was amazing & the whole experience improved by the fantastic view. We would definitely recommend it & hopefully will return in the future

    Excellent food, the balance of flavours and greatness of ingredients combined to produce a pleasant dining experience. Staff were attentive and helpful, and the location is stunning, which all helped to make this a memorable evening.

    We came on our own last year & had the taster menu (I treated hubby for his bday) so yesterday we returned with our friends who hadn’t been before. They were totally blown away! I must say, this year was even better than last year it was fantastic! The attention to detail was outstanding together with the exceptional menu. Thank you Ugly 🦋
