The award-winning Uchi, which translated from Japanese means “home,” was first opened in Austin, Texas by James Beard Award winner Chef Tyson Cole. Since then, Cole’s signature non-traditional take on Japanese cuisine has been warmly received by visitors from across the country and around the globe. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked online up to 1 month in advance. Walk-in bar seating is available and is subject to wait times. Patio seating is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. We look forward to serving you, Kanpai!

Visiting from Texas, I have been to the original one in Austin and the Houston location. This location is about twice the size of the others. The greeting was welcoming, our server was awesome and our food was phenomenal. I had a work related dinner and was able to introduce my manager to some top quality food. This is a must on anyone’s trip.

Food utterly fantastic and just made better by the service and explanations of each dish. Pork chop, chicken liver mousse and mushroom spring rolls were over the top. But every dish on the chef choice menu was perfect. Cannot say anything bad except was really noisy. However, having a table near the kitchen was fun, getting to watch the prep.

We recently enjoyed some of the best sushi and sashimi we've had in a while. The dishes were flavorful with a modern twist. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although the table behind us was a bit too loud, there was nothing to complain about in terms of the atmosphere and the place. Highly recommended.

Amazing as always! Never go wrong in this place! All staff make sure you are welcome and makes you feel like home! We have made friends of several members of Uchi staff that over the years and we are always happy to see everyone we know there ! This is how hospitality should look like in every restaurant! Keep up the good work everyone! Thank you for taking such a great care of us!

In town for a red rocks show and stopped in to Uchi for dinner. I'm in Austin, so it's always fun to see some new things on Uchi's menu. It was great, from start to finish. I highly recommend.
