Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and was blown away with how great the food was. I also must note that the service was also amazing and the people there are so kind and accommodating. I will be returning to enjoy the food again and to explore new dishes and to expand my pallet. Thank you for making her day so special for us both.

Dinner at Tzuco proved to be a cherry on top of our last night in Chicago. We are from Texas, and my husband, who is Latino, is VERY picky about Mexican food. It can't be too "out there" or too whitewashed. Tzuco knocked it out of the park from start to finish! Friendly host and servers, cozy atmosphere, delicious mocktails and a selection of Mexican beers (his fave). The guacamole was fresh and tangy. The tetela was simply out of this world. We appreciated the gorgeous plating and the use of real Mexican crema! For our entrée, I chose the shrimp aguachile. Again, gorgeous plating and ample avocado slices. Just a note: I did notice that a couple of the shrimp were a bit under "cooked" and grayish. My husband had the barbacoa, and thoroughly enjoyed it. He praised it still being on the bone as an indicator of quality and authenticity. Yessss! We will be sure to dine here again on our next trip to Chicago, and recommend it to others going. Thank you again for a wonderful dining experience.

One of the few remaining excellent restaurants in Chicago. An overall wonderful dining experience.

I was not a fan of the food, the steak was not tender but the apps were good. The place looks amazing just not my type of food

Tzuco is very good, but not as life-altering as people described (especially for the price). Personally, the biggest disappointment was the carne asada, which was not particularly flavorful and had several bites that smell pungently of goat cheese (to the point of being inedible), even without actually eating the goat cheese itself. The tetela and pulpo were both incredible. I didn't care for the steak tartare. The pibil was very good. The rosa dessert was great.

The simple tomato and peach starter were an excellent combination. The Angus steak cooked to perfection and the meringue for desert was light and perfect
