A new, growing-led “British Tapas” restaurant from the teams behind Chef's Table and Growing @Field 28. The menu features an inventive and daily-changing selection of vegetarian, vegan, meat, fish and game plates, each dish is crafted from Field 28's daily harvest of pesticide and biocide-free heritage produce and specialist leaf, served alongside a selection of hand-crafted cordials, cocktails and wines.

Lunch Offer : 3 Plates for £18 // 5 Plates for £30, served at lunch Thursday-Saturday.

Please note we are a separate restaurant to Chef's Table. We are currently unable to accept cash at our new premises and are card-only.

We have been many times but this was our first time going for Sunday Brunch. The menu has a great mix of brunch and small plate options to appeal to everyone's tastes. The Tattie Scones (harking back to the early days of the Chef's Table in Music Hall Passage) were fantastic. The range of soft drinks is also particularly good for those who aren't drinking. It is always a pleasure dining here!

This is definitely not a typical restaurant. The food is something really special. Highly recommended - a unique experience that really stands out. The staff were friendly and helpful and waiting times were short. The venue is pleasant and has a nice, elegant feel. However, the place is a bit small and tables are close to each other and just people talking made it quite noisy. It was difficult to talk with my companion. Also on a negative side - it is a cashless restaurant. I understand it may be convenient for the business, but it is hardly convenient for the clients. And paying in cash rounded with a tip is such an ingrained element of our culture - sad to lose it. Surely such an amazing business as Twenty Eight could make it possible to accept cash payments!

The best anchovies, the best deep fried courgettes, the best trout pastrami, the best padron peppers I have ever tasted. And I have tasted all four across the World. Twenty Eight rocks. I’ll be back. Soon

Excellent food, highly recommend dinning there. Maybe a little expensive but the best quality brunch menu in Chester.

The service from the 2 young ladies was very good, only criticism was they were not always observant when you wanted to order a drink. The food was delicious and good quality, cooked to perfection 👌. Would recommend to others & would go back

Booked restaurant for a birthday meal with friends. Food and service were excellent. Really enjoyed the small plates as it gave all of us the opportunity to sample of wide choice from the menu. Quality of the food was also excellent.

We'd very much enjoyed a meal in the restaurant, Chefs Table, a couple of weeks before and were keen to try the Tapas restaurant. The food was excellent - much of the vegetable content home grown - and seasonal and beautifully presented. Ample choice of dishes and we are looking forward to our next visit.
