We have been going to Tuck Shop for 10+ years now and unfortunately this time the food/service was not of the same caliber. We sat outside on the terrace and initially there were a lot of issues with construction noise on the street and then a city bus actually hit the terrace frame (this was on a Sat evening at 9 pm). Of course the restaurant could not control this but nothing was done to acknowledge it (a shot, free dessert, anything?). The food was just ok - I ordered the heirloom tomatoes appetizer but it was just cherry tomatoes with an extreme amount of blue cheese on top...I like blue cheese but it was too much and overpowering and the cherry tomatoes do not compare to heirloom. The chicken main was very tasty but the lamb shank was underwhelming and accompanied by too many beans with little flavor. The waitress was nice enough and the service was fast and once the street noise calmed down, the terrace vibe is very cosy. We were also sad to see such a limited menu, especially in fall. Maybe it was an off night!

Pushy waitress towards my husband who doesn’t drink alcohol and is on a specific diet. Said several times he won’t be having a drink and she kept asking. Made it awkward. Steak was asked to cook medium and was borderline well done. Too bad

j'ai adoré ma soirée ! Super belle table , belle ambiance , plats et cocktails delicieux. Le seul leger bemol de la soiree , c'est les busboys (busgirl dans ce cas -ci ) qui sont trop presents qui en font trop qui remplissent mon verre d'eau alors qui'il est 3/4 vide toute les 2 min et limite m'arrache pas mon drink des mains ou l'assiette que je suis en train de saucer avec mon pain :/ trop de service cest comme pas assez . La serveuse (blonde cheveux court ) etait charmante et efficace :) overall execellent , jai vraiment hate dy retourner !

It was a wonderful night out to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We loved our meals and the service was excellent. We sat outside which was quieter than inside. It’s a lively place! We have eaten here several times over the years since the Tuck Shop first opened, but it had been a number of years since we’d been back. It’s great to discover that the restaurant is as lovely, the staff as kind and accommodating, and the food just as delicious and beautifully prepared as it’s been since the very beginning. Bravo!

Fantastic drinks and dinner, a definite must visit whenever we are in the area. The Market Salad is always fantastic. Oysters from P.E.I. were amazing and the house made hot sauce is fabulous.

Tuck Shop is the best restaurant in the area. The food is always tasty and the ingredients are always fresh. The drinks are always refreshing and perfectly paired with dishes on the menu! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable!
