Food was excellent. I have dined at the Houston location in the past and had a wonderful experience and sought out this restaurant based on that experience. Although the food was excellent as expected the service was less than stellar.

The food was delicious, but the service was severely lacking for a busy Saturday night. It was so crowded that people were struggling to push past our chairs to walk by. Our server didn’t return for long lengths of time. The wine we ordered to drink with our meal didn’t arrive until we had finished. It was my husband’s birthday and they did bring out a dessert that we could share. It was just ok, but I appreciate the gesture. Probably won’t return, at least during peak dinner hours, as other DC restaurants give a better dinner experience.

The food was great but we sat at the bar and for most of the time there were no personnel at the bar servicing the people sitting there. When there was staff there they were talking to each other and not really paying attention to the customers. At this level of restaurant the expectation is good if not great service.

We took our mom out for her birthday, and our waiter Tone was excellent. His knowledge of the menu and recommendations were incredibly helpful, making our experience at Truluck’s truly enjoyable.

I was greeted and seated immediately. My waiter was absolutely AMAZING!! Explained the menu thoroughly and was so helpful. The food was divine! The ambiance was lovely. Very classy establishment. 10/10 recommend!!
