Welcome to the True Wild Distilling Bar & Restaurant, A live-fire restaurant nestled between towering whisky and gin stills inside a stunning heritage building. High-quality proteins and sustainable vegetables dishes are infused with the unique flavour profile that only charcoal can impart. Service was lacking. Drinks were slow to come and had to get our own water a couple times. Forgot two of our dishes so brought mushrooms and salad when we were done the mains. They should mention it’s family style dining. Food and ambiance was amazing. The food alone would have me coming back.

What a cool location and fantastic use of a heritage space. We were immediately welcomed and seated in a cozy spot between the open kitchen and windows into the distillery. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Our meals choices were excellent, arriving quickly and piping hot. Dessert was tasty too. We’ll be back and time it with a distillery tour. A super addition to Calgarys restaurant scene!

We stopped here for drinks and an appetizer before dinner plans. It was such a beautiful experience. The drinks were great and we tried the pork on bread and yum!!! Definitely recommend!

Might be my new favorite restaurant in Calgary! First of all, the building inside and out is beautiful. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is inviting. Started with the Beef Tartare and the Bone Marrow Toast. The Tartare was solid with the crispy potatoes and high quality beef, but the Toast was beyond delicious. One of my favorite dishes I've ever had! Then we shared the Salt and Vinegar Sunchokes and the 20 oz. Ribeye. The sunchokes were very unique and we really enjoyed them. The steak was amazing! Perfect cook and seasonings, tender, and buttery. Also tried 4 different cocktails and enjoyed them all.

The space is beautiful and the food was delicious. The sunchokes are a must try. The menu is small but with great options to share or individual portions -all very well executed. I will definitely be returning

What a beautiful space! Driving up to this beautiful space felt like a bit of an adventure - deep in the industrial area of Calgary the gorgeous white building stands out like a secret...Walk in and it's even better. What a great job of integrating the old with new. My only complaint with the vibe is the lighting - a little too bright to give it a sexy and cozy feel but I understand they are working on this. The food was outrageously good. We had the oysters which were perfect, the pork belly terrine, shaved broccoli salad, and the bone marrow toast to start. The pork belly was more aligned with a cold cut than a true terrine but was still quite tasty. The bone marrow toast stole the show and is a must have - rich and velvety. For our main we ordered the trout fillet and the fries. The trout was perfectly cooked with the crispiest skin and deliciously salted. This place is a hidden gem and definitely worth the drive. Can't wait to go back.
