First. We are regular patrons of True Food Kitchen. Today’s Sunday lunch was an exception At 1pm, they were out of five popular entrees and one dessert. Although all orders were given simultaneously, one of four was served so late that others at the table were nearly finished when the appetizer arrived. Edamame dumplings were over cooked to mushiness. The broth was excellent but lukewarm warm. Table mates were finished when the remaining entree, a staple on the menu, poke bowl, arrived so poorly presented that the ingredients did not meld. It was plebeian mixture of ahi and grain. The wabi was strewn on the upper walls of the bowl. Then dessert arrived. Twice. There was also an attempt to serve us another table’s entrees. Then the check arrived with request for hundreds of dollars in cash or the credit card information written out for later entry. Supposedly the power was out to the credit card processor but not the billing machine, not the light or heating. It was very unsettling. I have already notified a credit agency of the loss of control of my credit card information. It is hard to imagine how this could have gone worse. The service quirkiness was shared by at least four service people who came to our table at one time or another. One member of our party joked that we were experiencing a SNL skit of Who’s on First.

A terrible experience. We ordered and waited and waited while people coming in after us were all served. The waiter did not keep us updated. Finally, after a really long time, we got his attention and he apologized for our poor service. We waited some more, and the food came luke warm, dry and unappetizing. Certainly not worth what they were charging. They ended up comping our tab, but we were not looking for a freebie; we were looking for a nice Sunday afternoon meal. We will not be back.

Excellent food. Order delivered quickly. Service friendly but slowed significantly once they got busy at lunch and had to flag down to get check. Loud inside with lots of hard surfaces. Will definitely return.

Went there for a business lunch meeting. Food was delicious as usual and filling but not heavy. (I didn't feel sleepy during the afternoon meetings!) Service was impeccable.

We had a very nice meal. Our party of 5 enjoyed the corner table in the back - nice and quiet. Food was great, and service was always there when we needed it, but not hovering. We wish there was a True Foods Kitchen also in Davis or Sacramento, closer to where we live - but we'll be coming back to this one!

Everyone is awesome at true foods. From the hostess to the bartenders to the waiters to the restaurant service assistants and the cooks. Management does a great job at ensuring Everyone is happy. It rarely gets too busy …. That the food is a little cold. Management will quickly corrects the problem.
